Who created those ethics rules for those branches and who enforces those rules within the branches? Oh and it isn't accurate to say the Supreme Court has NO ethics rules... https://www.supremecourt.gov/about/code-of-conduct-for-justices.aspx
Because you're the one making the claim that a president has the power to kill any United States citizen who's been labeled a terrorist.
You have any evidence that said billionaire you're asserting he took bribes from even has unionized workforce?
The Judiciary Act of 1789, signed into law by President George Washington on September 24, 1789, established the Supreme Court of the United States…….
Really…..JFC you are not serious here are you ? You think people just out of the kindness of their hearts give other people millions of dollars, expecting nothing in return ? UMMM…..OK
That ruling could be subject to further review if there was a constitutional amendment saying "no official is immune to the law". Further review could find Obama subject to the law.
All of them. Thomas never sides with liberal justices. He was the only one who wants to hear the cases about overturning the election in 2020.
And you couldn't be more wrong... Article III Section 1. The judicial power of the United States, shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts...
So... The executive and legislative branches are trying to diminish the judicial branch. Got it. When the left doesn't get their way, they try to change the entire system to better serve their agenda. Pass a Constitutional Amendment then. Good luck.
The powers of government, including each branch are enumerated. I don't see anything in the Constitution allowing the executive or legislative branches from imposing their will on the judicial. Point to the section?
Are you blind to the majority in the legislature that are far wealthier than before they were elected? That's FAR more concerning as they write the laws. The SC only interprets them at a Constituitonal level.
Joe Biden’s words son. “To leave the seat vacant at this critical moment in American history is a little bit like saying, ‘God forbid something happen to the president and the vice president, we’re not going to fill the presidency for another year and a half,’….” All the sudden a vacancy would be a major issue when dims had a chance to fill it. As I said, Joe Biden’s time to impact the judiciary is over. Tester and Brown are too vulnerable to risk their senate seats over any nomination the vegetable in chief makes, even if it's not his choice.
And term limit Congress to two terms for Senators and 3 for Representatives. And apply same to the Congress and Executives, no more plane rides, and stays at vacation homes, no more meals, no more "speaking" honorariums, no more gifts of any kind from anyone. Strawman go read the ruling it does not make a President immune from ANY crime only those involving and official act authorized under the Constitution. But it's a moot point as there are not enough votes in the Congress nor enough states and certainly no need to do so other than the Dems object to the Constitution be upheld and laws that violate it struck down.
The US Supreme Court ruled that Presidents have at least some Immunity or immunity for official acts as President. It did not rule, Presidents can arrest and kill their political opponents as the Leftist Fake News Media says. President Trump did not ask the US Supreme Court to rule he has immunity for illegal acts as President. This is Leftist Fake News Media. Because they consider his actions on Jan 6 as criminal official acts. on Trumped UP charges, Trumped UP Pun intended. In these Political Kangaroo Court Trials against him. Like trying to remove him from the Colorado elections ballot and other states ballots. The only reasons Biden and the leftist democrats are proposing these reforms is Politics in an election year. They don't like the current Republican US Supreme Court majority rulings. These are the reasons. The leftist democrats here and on my other political forums sites, don't complain, when any of the current Republican majority, US Supreme Court Justices decide in their favor on any issues they support.
Trump is currently under indictment in GA and DC for various crimes he committed while in office. He will be under indictment again in Florida once the 11th circuit smacks down Cannon (again) Do you think any of the things that he has been indicted for constitute an "official act" that he should have immunity for?
Before term limits on the caliber of people who become supreme court justices- we need term limits for congress, where people with little to no records of achievement become homesteaders. The dingles from Michigan for instance- John Dinggell of Michigan was elected to the house of Representatives in 1955. He stayed for 59 years. Currently, that seat is held by Debbie Dingell, his wife- who was only two years old when John Dingell was first elected. He has a son who is interested in continuing the Dingell dynasty. This is not to criticize who they are, only to point out that longevity in office can be extensive. Supreme court justices are usually in their 40's or older before reaching that office. Members of congress on the other hand- well, OCD for example was elected in her late 20's. One of the most important elements that make a strong economy and confident society- is stability. Citizens can't play a game that keeps changing due to political manipulation, that destroys trust in the system and respect for all laws. Our constitution allows for change, but intentionally does not allow that to be easy or frivilous. That is critical, because the real process here is not about today, it's about the future of all of us. America has very good basic principles and systems. Rather than radical change or replacement, perhaps we should be learning to live by the system, honor those principles and values. That means removing the corruption, the propaganda, the evasions and manipulations that plague our politics and get back to respecting ourselves.
