Leader? Never heard of him. I’m vaccinated and wear masks in public indoors. But I don’t want to force everyone else to. It’s stupid not to, but it’s your choice to be stupid. Your stupidity doesn’t hurt me:) I’m as safe as I’m ever going to be.

From the article it looks like he 'lead' anti-mask/vaccination protests in his local community, a small town in central Texas. So its hardly surprising no-one has heard of him. Of course he then went on to compound his plight by refusing to get tested when he did get sick , refused to see a doctor and then self medicating based on what appears to have been the usual on-line alt-right/anti-vaxer forum advice. Not surprisingly he then died shortly after finally being taken to hospital. Leaving 3 kids and one on the way.

He was a local leader in his neck of the woods. One does not have to be in the limelight and in high federal office to lead.

I have rights! And those rights override any responsibilities I have to anyone else. And if that means I die and leave my young family destitute? So what! That's their problem.

    Archetype alt-right narrative!

I'm guessing his fatherless children do, and I'm also guessing that they'd think your comment was pathetic and hateful.

Where your "come back" breaks down IMHO is asserting that someone has a responsibility to others to wear a mask that does not work with any demonstrated degree of effectiveness. You are asserting that you may die if someone else does not wear a mask which is an unsupported claim. The N95 mask may provide some protection if properly fitted, but people are not requiring N95 masks and if they did the masks for the most part would not be properly fitted by most people. The fact that wearing a porous rag on one's face constitutes compliance with mask mandates shows this is all about virtue signaling, obeying government, and control.

The downside of masks is people wearing them touch their face more, and the masks can cause yeast and staph infections.

But if masks work why won't the fact that you wear a mask protect you? If you want to wear a mask you have the freedom to wear one.

Let me try to illustrate my point with an analogy. Would you recommend people use condoms that have a 20% effectiveness?

Something like 32,000 people die every year from a car wreck. We can limit/manage that risk by mandating speed governors on all cars to limit their top speed to say 15 MPH. But we don't do that. Why?

20% means 80% ineffective according to you.

Most masks don't do anything. I suspect he wasn't vaccinated either. My anti-vac daughter just learned a hard lesson and will be getting the vaccine as soon as she gets over the virus and waits 90 days.

By the way, if the mask nazi people truly care about stopping the virus, truly want to follow the science, why don't they mandate that everyone wear N95 masks instead of letting people wear whatever matches their dress? Why does it make you feel good if I wear a basic mask that is quite crappy at sealing around my face? Why do you allow people with gaiters to walk around in public?

So he did not die from covid but more likely from the experimental livestock drug he took.

    The OP is fake news.

Are you encouraging your daughter to vax or making her do it?? She will survive covid 19 by the sounds of it so no need for the vax.

Do you make her get a flu shot every single time she gets the common flu?

I don't see it as being stupid. I see it as being smart.

My wife's best friend is a nurse at a hospital. She met a man who never had covid until he got vaccinated and now he is in the hospital very sick. She thinks the vaccine lowered his immune system and she even stated some of the shots are placebos.

I'm refusing to take a experimental drug. I'm not a test subject and my own immune system is working just fine.

Plus my compromised wife had covid for a single day and she is fine. So I'm not worried.
