You’re ignoring the long term effects that can come with having covid. And why risk it when there is a perfectly safe vaccine?

 

I'm not a Republican, but I am conservative.

I'm 66.

I was fully vaccinated this past February. In July I tested positive for Covid-19. I was only sick for a few days, and by Day 6 I could even tell I had been sick. I've had bouts with flu that had more severe symptoms and that lasted a lot longer. Also, I didn't spread it to my wife or my 87 year old mother in-law who spent 3 days with us before I knew I was infected. The vaccine didn't keep me from getting infected, but I think it did a lot to fight it off.

Just sayin' ...

 

And I wouldn’t ever force you to or anyone else. The data shows those who catch Covid unvaccinated in the hospitals are dying at higher rates. Doesn’t mean it protects everyone. Just that you’re mostly going to get a cold if you get the shot instead of dead. And your choices don’t effect my chances one iota. Het the shot. Don’t wear a mask. Doesn’t matter. People who walk around sneezing and coughing in public knowing they’re sick are POS though.

It's got nothing to do with masks.

I'm asserting (in general) that all 'rights' come with matching responsibilities. That aside however in this case I'm specifically noting that the the man's total disregard for medical advice has left his family fatherless. Forget the mask (he certainly did) if that was all there was in this it wouldn't really matter. But no, this guy went whole 9 yards when it came to supporting his 'rights' and at the expense of his responsibilities i.e. to his family.

Mask or no mask he might have caught the virus anyway. But in this case after catching it and getting sick, what does he do?

1) He refuses to see a Doctor (because he knows COVID either isn't real or isn't serious); then
2) He takes quack medicines (because he knows the advice he gets from like minded citizens of the internet about how COVID really works is the 'truth' and that the advice given by organizations like CDC (government!!!) is lies.
3) Finally? Despite getting steadily worse as days go by he refuses to go to hospital, ignoring all entreaties otherwise from his wife and family. In the end only going after he's lapsed into unconscious and can't protest any more.

Yep, this was all about 'his rights' all right. And he may as well have just stuck a shotgun in mouth and pulled the trigger - just to prove how 'right' he was.

 

I have rights, as long as the government tells me I do. Science is what ever CNN tells me it is and no matter how many times they are caught falsifying a claim, I will obey them. And I have a right to tell you what your rights have and if you dispute me I will cancel you and everything you spent your life building. Your life and the lives of your family are only important to me if you obey and support my narrative. And if you don't we will terrorize your family.

Well I have not verified it myself so yes it is hersay. My wife talks to her and so my wife told me she said that.

She won't be a nurse much longer. Her hospital is now requiring all employees get the vaccine and she won't take it. She would rather quit.

That statement assumes facts not in evidence.

The real evidence is that face masks that cover both the nose and the mouth drastically reduce the transmission of droplets, ergo, masks do work.
