That is a popular excuse when a Christian does something bad. I say you can't have it both ways, i.e. you can't say that Christianity makes people more moral, but then turn around and claim that Christians who do bad things aren't really Christians. Different people simply interpret Christianity differently, whether we're talking about moral questions or questions of biblical interpretation, theology or doctrine. Christians spent many centuries slaughtering one another and non-Christians over such disagreements and because they were told to by leaders who were using them to accomplish political goals. Hell, Christians are still out killing people, but they tend to do it in the military now, where it's sanctioned by the state and they find ways, as always, to justify murdering other people. I guess God forgives soldiers because God is supposed to be in charge of governments, and militaries follow government orders. There is always a way for a Christian to justify doing morally questionable things, just as non-religious people can and will do also.

You mean the Christians who go AGAINST the Bible by NOT following god/Jesus' approval of slavery? Yes, the ones that DON'T follow the Bible are the good Christians....in other words the LESS one follows the Bible the BETTER of a human being one becomes - like me, a former Christian, I follow the Bible less than otherwise.

Jesus was just trying to get people to not JUDGE, to leave JUDGING up to him.

I was talking about their fundamental beliefs.

Turn the other cheek, let he without sin cast the first stone, do unto others, these are fundamental concepts in Christianity. When "christians" reject these principle, they are rejecting Christianity itself.

In order to go to heaven you have to be sorry for your sins. You have to repent. Continuing to adhere to hateful ideologies contrary to christian doctrine is knowingly rejecting Christ. And that gets you a one-way ticket to hell.

Righties now argue that the bible says you will not murder, not that you won't kill. LOL! So as long as the killing is justified...

Like I said, they are not Christians. They only claim to be. There is a difference. You can't reject fundamental doctrine and claim to be a christian.

Just because evil people use religion to their advantage doesn't take away from the fundamental tenets of the doctrine. It doesn't change the words.

Right, so those who judge are not acting as Christians. This is what Christ taught.

As for getting into heaven, no one is worthy - that is also a fundamental tenet. You are only saved through grace. You can't earn your way to heaven.

Yes, while Modern Secular Humanism teaches that we are incredible, religions tend to teach that we are all scum.....clearly ONE of those beliefs is best for humanity. One has faith in humanity, and one does not. One is positive about humanity, and one is negative about humanity.

The choice is clear as to which one is best for humanity.

Good thing we don't listen to that psycho hippie - or else right now there would be a portrait of the current Nazi leader on our walls, or of the current Japanese emperor. Stand for freedom - Jesus didn't understand freedom.

Approval of slavery, hatred of gays, burning alive of non-believers in a "lake of fire", and discrimination against women, are ALSO fundamental teachings in the Bibie.

Most Christians believe in literal hellfire? You have a source for that?

What if they believe hellfire is metaphorical? Why would they have to remove the verses then?

The sections of the Bible that approve of slavery are in the OT, which Christians believe no longer applies to society and Jesus never approved of slavery.

Seriously, if you are going to make an argument, at least have some semblance of accuracy.

Yes, Jesus accepted slavery (he was a psycho, and immoral):
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong.
The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. “But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given.” (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

Opposing slave revolts and the massacres of slaves that followed them is not supporting slavery.

Opposing massacres is a good thing, but saying people should get off SCOT-FREE for beating a slave to death (if the death drags out past a few days) is pure unadulterated evil....you'd THINK an "all-loving, all-knowing" entity would know better!! :) Obviously the Bible is not from a "god", but from mostly evil men.

The Scriptures speak of mankind's sin of unbelief. Homosexuality, like other sins, are symptoms of the disease. In Paul's letter to the Romans, he stated that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal Life through Christ. It is that vicarious relationship established at the Cross that saves a person from Hell. Not in the deeds that he does.
