Calls to Impeach Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm for ethics violations

The Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, is in hot water due to numerous ethical issues. Congresswoman Tenney has called for her impeachment. Here are the ethics issues being discussed.

1. Hatch Act: The Hatch Act says civil servants are not allowed to engage in certain political activities while employed by the United States government... such as campaigning for other politicians.

The Office of Special Counsel investigated ethics complaints where Granholm promoted Democrats in a media interview and when she used social media to tell the public to vote for Democrats. Granholm was found to have violated the Hatch Act on both counts by the Office of Special Counsel.

2. During a Congressional hearing, she was asked if she held any individual stocks and claimed she did not. This was false. She also happened to promote individual companies in which she owned stock. Biden was also promoting a company in which she owned individual stock. She later sold the stock on the private market and has not disclosed how much she sold it for, whether it was sold for a profit above market rate, or to whom she sold it. She claims she thought at the time that all of her individual stock was sold.

In addition to this recent revelation, she violated stock disclosure laws at least nine times.

3. Recently, she had a publicity stunt where she went on a road trip in an electric vehicle to convince the public to promote electric cars to the public. However, she faced the problem of limited charging stations on her road trip, which would add time to her travel, as every EV owner knows. All the charging stations are often being used, and you must wait your turn. So, to help her be more efficient on her road trip, her staff drove gasoline-powered vehicles ahead of her and blocked charging stations. She always had a charging port when she needed one. On one especially hot day, her staff refused to move their gasoline vehicle to allow a family with an infant in an electric car to use the charger. An altercation occurred, and the police were called.

Granholm is a typical government employee who thinks she's a god. They have no problem lying, cheating, and looking down their nose at the unwashed.

Cabinet positions have long been viewed as political. Republicans are blowing smoke.

They won't get her for this, either, without evidence she knew she owned the shares.

Why driving an EV as other than local transportation isn't something that interests most of us.

Tenney is grandstanding, perhaps because she's at risk of losing her House seat in 2024.

All of the Biden cabinet members are mediocre to bad public servants who make my skin crawl, Granholm is close to the worst of the worst. If it weren’t for Pete Buttigieg, she’d be the worst of all with no debate.

Americans deserve something more than a fossil fuel hating ideologue who does everything she can to make life harder for nearly all Americans. The only cabinet position she is qualified for is Secretary of Woke.

I doubt that there is enough evidence to impeach her. The only issue is her stock holdings. If she could be impeached as “The Queen of Mean,” it would an easy vote.

 

It’s good that you recognize that Granholm is as bad as Trump. They are the “King and Queen of Mean.”

 

She broke the law while working in her official capacity at least a dozen times, but it's cute that you choose to defend her.

 

I think it’s great the. MAGA repugnantcants are doing everything to show how vindictive they are. And, doing NOTHING for their constituents.

That paradigm, instead of a platform, has been working so well for them during elections.

 

You have to give Granholm credit for one thing. She showed how a family can take their EV on a long trip. One spouse drives the EV, and the other takes the gas powered vehicle to make sure you get there.

 

Sounds like a sound plan -- until the gasoline vehicles are phased out --but then I guess you could have someone follow you on a bicycle.

 

I'm surprised you don't want to throw her out to sea to die alone outside of YOUR country. That's the standard you've had for people who haven't been convicted yet that you disagree with politically. Why is this woman welcome in YOUR country?

 

I’m surprised you’re still harping on a very patriotic and well written short story, that you obviously know nothing about.

All “I” know about Granholm is she’s an excellent public speaker. The few times I’ve seen her she’s done an excellent job of delivering her message.

My point, in this thread, is , the foolhardiness of repugnant-can’ts going after President Biden’s administration. When in the long run it will only highlight his successes, honesty and, the great job he’s doing for ALL Americans.

 

I do know Granholm was born in Canada and can never be President.

 

As I said, Tenny is playing to the crowd. Nothing is going to happen.

I'm sure Democrats will protect her. It's odd because she's not in an exceptionally powerful position and it would be an easy win for Democrats to show the public that they care about ethics during this awkward time of accusations against the White House. They could even replace her with a non-white woman for extra bonus points.

Didn't the former President endorse Republican candidates when he went on his speaking tours? Why isn't that a violation of the Hatch Act?
