Campaign Trump Alive & Well In Phoenix!

Watching the President Trump rally in Phoenix Arizona yesterday one is bowled over about the extremely depraved character that the President displays. On the subject matter of the Charlottesville protests, President Trump tried to do a revisionist history of his behavior surrounding the incident. He left out the key part of his response on that Saturday that his statement condemning hatred, bigotry and violence sought to label such behavior on both sides of the protestors where anyone responsibly evaluating these protests would only call out the hate group protestors for their abhorrent hate message and their intention and efforts they made to promulgate violence during the events of that weekend. He tried to dismiss the fact that it took him two days to specifically denounce the hate groups and on the following day that he tried to equate the wrongfulness of these hate groups with any wrongdoing amongst the anti-hate groups. There was a congresswomen that appeared on one of the Sunday talk shows the day after the incident that was spot on about President Trump's wrongdoing here which is he didn't initially come out forcefully against these hate groups because he didn't want to risk losing some of his base which includes members of these groups and their allies. Another disconcerting aspects of President's Trumps remarks at the rally is he painted the anti-Trump protesters as this group that dons helmets, black masks and brings clubs to protests Mr. President where is your commitment to the truth the vast vast majority of these protestors are not looking for any physical confrontation at all they are merely interested in exercising their free speech rights that they are opposed to you because of your policies, actions and character!



President Donald Trump during this Phoenix rally demonstrated that he doesn't get it that the American people expect their President to be good and behave good President Trump needs to have a St. Paul like conversion experience and really get it that the job of the Presidency has this baseline performance requirement. President Trump falls below this baseline performance requirement when he whines about the media and continually throws around the label fake news, President Trump needs to get some character he is a Republican President the media is liberal so he is always going to get extra scrutiny the media will always be looking to criticize him, he freely ran for the job of President so he accepted this situation, cut out your war on the media.



President Trump's speech was alarming where it called for an end to the sixty vote requirement for ending Senate filibusters. Where the hell is his commitment to protect the country for the long-term. This filibuster rule protects governing majorities in America from pushing through laws that are unfair to minority groups in America. President Trump should be remembering that one day the Democrats will regain power in America and if this filibuster rule is thrown away they will be able to ram through liberal agendas into law that are unfair to groups that Republican hold as dear and important.



President Trump in his speech demonstrated that he is clueless and a character mess on the subject of healthcare. His reference to Jonathan Gruber underscores President Trump's sad penchant for believing conspiracy theories. Jonathan Gruber is delusional and just plain wrong in regards to his involvement in passage of the ACA. All those Senators and House members that voted for the ACA did so because it embodied a liberal wish list for healthcare legislation it had nothing whatsoever to do with Mr. Gruber. President Trump's clamoring that America was one vote away from success on healthcare reveals he does not know what he is talking about on this subject. The Republican skinny repeal bill was exactly that a repeal with no replacement bill; moreover, it was a repeal type bill that a responsible person would conclude would have blocked the individual health insurance market in large portions of the country creating a catastrophic situation this is so because this bill repealed the individual mandate which would have triggered health insurance companies bailing on offering individual health insurance on the exchanges because these companies would not be able to reliably determine how many policies they would be able to sell so their risk of loss would be to great for them to participate.



President Trump you want to advocate for what is good for healthcare you want to offer help to the countless Americans that are carrying onerous burdens due to the ACA? Then call for an end to repeal and replace the Republicans have had seven years to produce a replacement bill that is better than the ACA and failed epically! Then call a spade a spade specifically recommend to the American people that they conclude the Democrat "leadership" does not support improving the ACA they want to transition America to a single payer system they don't care about the poor quality health care system such a transition will wrought. On the Friday morning of the failed vote and approximately a week after Majority Leader McConnell publicly announced to the Democrats that the Republicans are open to hearing their bill that cuts the cost of health insurance in return for commitment of Federal spending and Senator Schumer has been mute ever since, he has acted like a snake no follow through on his statements during the Senate Republicans efforts to pass a health-care bill. President Trump should then call for the American people to support improving the ACA by recognizing that the Federal government is too dysfunctional to fix the ACA from a health insurance cost cutting standpoint which is what is needed that the power needs to be given to the states. Congress is too political its members are too selfish and too cowardly they care too much about saving their jobs then doing them to make the mandate changes needed to fix America's health care system. Presidents leadership in this area really possibly could lead to major legislation passing in this area. Today in the Philadelphia Inquirer Delaware Senator Tom Carper wrote an article calling for healthcare reform legislation that does three things: insures the individual insurance mandate will be enforced, permanently mandates the Federal government pay for the Federal gov't social service program that provides copay help and deductible help to low income Americans in the individual insurance market and permanently mandates the Federal government fund a reinsurance program for the individual insurance market that helps insurance companies pay for enrollees with serious health problems. From observing Democrats across America talk over the last eight months there is probably an abundance of members of Congress that think the way Senator Carper does. The Republicans should say okay you Democrats we will give these three things you just give us one big thing empower the states to override and modify all the cost driver mandates in ACA that applies to health insurance. President Donald Trump you want to fight for all the American people on the health insurance issue than take up this baton and run with it! The Senator Lindsey Graham bill is an extremely stupid idea, giving all the federal monies to the states to spend as they will involves eliminating the federal subsidy for the individual insurance market program as well as other federal ACA social service programs which will bring widespread public opposition and criticism a completely futile effort!



One last thing President Trump in order to behave good a President Trump shouldn't say anything about removal of Confederate statues directly or indirectly treat it as a local and state issue it is a no win situation for him if he comments. Anti-removal Americans are not racist it is legitimate to view these Confederate figures who have statues as faithful sons of the South that the issue involved has nothing to do with slavery but love of the South and its culture which promotes, lifts up and holds dear honor, virtue, boldness, courage and positive attributes like that which these figures risked and in some cases gave their life supporting. If President Trump advocates this he will only be labeled a racist by many so he should say nothing!

Trump's speech was too long, and too repetitive of things he's said before. But compared to CNN's analysis of it, and much of the OP's analysis of it, it was like listening to the Gettysburg address; because it spoke to the hearts of the people, and not to the egos of the anarchist left and the swamp in DC.
