OK, fellas, whatever you say. Like I said, you're welcome to all the Pacific Ocean seafood you want, and I wish you well! I'll follow different guidance -- but believe me -- I do miss all the lovely, wonderful seafood I used to be able to enjoy from the Pacific, which I definitely considered to be the best in the world, by FAR.

My loss... your gain. And if you believe nothing else, please believe me when I tell you that I don't LIKE any of this.

I regret that you are captured by irrational fear.

I do not like to see seemingly intelligent people making decisions based on the false notion that any dose is harmful. The EPA does this all the time. For example all medications are poisons but have positive effects in low dosage applications. Too many Tums, aspirin, cough medicine, and indeed water can kill you. If you apply your thought process consistently you will die of dehydration and/or malnutrition.

I am well informed. What specifically do you disagree with?

I disagree because we know today that the engineers shut down all safety devices to make some tests.

People make good and bad decisions all the time -- and the information we're fed by various advocacy groups may or may not be valid at all. I usually apply one rule when trying to sort out the truth from the bullshit -- I ask WHO BENEFITS! The determination of who has "skin in the game" is often very revealing about 'what is what'.

But people accept, or ignore useful information all the time. An example of where millions of people willingly ignore mounting evidence that a substance is a cause of lymphoma -- tattoo ink! There are dozens of links, but here's just one of many: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/tattoos-may-increase-blood-cancer-risk-by-21

Tattoos are unnecessary, expensive, and make no direct contribution to anyone's 'well being', and yet despite the apparent link between them and lymphoma, people flock into tattoo parlors every day. But, what about something as vitally necessary to the health and well-being to many more millions of people -- their FOOD SUPPLY? There are a lot of people in the world whose food supply consists of seafood and not much else!

I suggest that we should not cavalierly dismiss the very real threat that radioactive substances can pose to all living organisms... and that first of all we should ask, WHO BENEFITS from having us think that, "Hey, it's OK if there's only a "small" amount of nuclear waste in the food that we eat...."

I go by science. The human race and all other species on earth evolved in an environment in which radioactive materials were present. All living beings can tolerate materials below certain toxic threshold levels. Every bite of food we eat contains small amounts of radioactive materials. Humans evolved consuming small amounts of radioactive materials in the food we eat. The FOOD SUPPLY contains radioactive material and has contained radioactive material for the entire natural history of the earth.

The human race has benefited immensely by nuclear power.

I agree that nuclear power technology has evolved and has become much safer than it used to be. Indeed, the Fukushima disaster itself -- even with its 'old-school' light water fission reactors -- wouldn't have happened but for the fact that the site was hit with an earthquake and resulting tsunami of record-breaking magnitude.

Thus, I'm not at all against nuclear power, per se, and I do look forward to the day when nukes are even far better... especially if we could ever master nuclear FUSION power technology. I just don't want nuclear waste in ANY quantity put into the air, sea, or earth.

But, people like me don't count... besides, truthfully, the Japs had their backs against the wall. Their storage vessels were completely full and they had to dump the crap somewhere. So, they did what mankind has always done with waste of every kind, unfortunately... they dumped it in the ocean.

You are entitled to your opinion but your fear is irrational.
