I'm sure those who have no clue what science is would believe it without question. That is what right-wing media counts on and feeds.

 

On topic, death rates are misleading. I don't think for a moment that medical staff acted maliciously to report big numbers, but I do believe that the numbers are inflated.

 

if you had covid, yes, it could cause you to have a heart attack - can cause blood clots, ect....

yes, some may be over counted, and many are under counted as well

same way it ws counted under Obama and everyone prior, do you really think Trump will look better if it's a few k more or less?

Being in the industry and knowing what happened once elective procedures came to a crashing halt, hospitals took a major financial hit. The CDC created a financial mechanism to promote abuse to marking patients as COVID as they received a financial stipend. If hospitals ventilated, they received a massive stipend. It was in the hospitals interest to go with speculation of COVID, as there was a financial incentive to do so.

During the initial phase of COVID, my institution had a capacity of around 30% capacity for our ICU and about 25% for all our elective procedures. Our normal ICU capacity averages between 85% and 97% which is optimal operating capacity.

We are still furloughing nurses and clinicians as people are still prettified that going to the hospital will get them sick. Many of those people are now showing up at our morgue as their fear of coming to the hospital prevented them from being treated for serious adverse events.

 

One more attempt to lower Covid19 death count, and once the CDC publishes its 2020 Mortality Rate and Causes of Death, we’ll be arguing for two decades.

Go ahead and debunk OANN's claim.

 

COVID can cause heart problems -- so, yes, we should expect some comorbidity. As for the broader false claim this is getting at: all we need to do is look at the CDC's excess mortality studies to see that WE ARE NOT OVERCOUNTING COVID DEATHS.

Just looking at the beginning of the OAN video, they are looking at conditions THAT COVID CAUSES, such as heart problems and pneumonia.

 

If these numbers are correct (51k who died of heart attacks instead of COVID) that is nearly ONE QUARTER of the total COVID death count.

 

Well, can you show the CDC citation in the OAN piece? Because I can't find it.

No surprise there. I was watching the live Task Force breifing on April 19th, the day that Dr. Birx told us that we were counting practically all deaths "with" Covid as COVID deaths as the main cause.

That makes all the number bogus garbage in, garbage out.

 

The CDC and WHO feel, if anything Covid deaths are being undercounted.

 

I don't know who is telling the truth but I was in a hospital for some testing and was talking to the attending nurse. She asked me all kinds of questions about headaches, fever, stuffy nose on and on. I finally asked her why so many questions and she point blank told me if I had answered yes to any of those I would have been labeled "probable Covid". I asked her if they would have tested and she said no unless symptoms got worse. Fact is the feds are paying for positives. I understand why, hospitals have lost a lot of other treatments when beds were a concern therefore it was their bailout. It certainly explains why cases have rose yet deaths are not following the case increases.

You mask nazi's before you jump this post understand I believe in Covid, I believe it's contagious as hell, I've had dear friends get it and one actually got sick but not to the point of hospitalization. I where a mask when I'm out and I social distance but all that being said it's truly interesting the numbers increase right before the election yet deaths have NEVER reached the levels the Northern Dem states saw. They locked down yet still had deaths going through the roof until July or August. This virus is nuts when so many can not have little if any symptoms and kids are almost immune to real sickness with this sucker.
