Articles on Wikipedia feel like they have been written by robots but whatever this thing produces feels very natural. My mind is completely blown away.

I happened upon the GPT chat thing just today as well. I had to sign up to use it, and it's just free for now since it's in testing. But I had a nice conversation with it. The coders and programmers on YouTube think this will replace them, but it doesn't seem to be at the level of full replacement for anything. Rather it's a general tool without specialization in any field other than generating language and speech. And it says so itself. If you want to use it for anything useful, you would be wise to go through its message output with a critical eye rather than just copy-pasting the contents. I asked it to write a letter about the importance of healthcare, but it's not connected to the internet, but uses a pre-done training library, so it doesn't know that, for example, the USA can't have cheap healthcare services like other countries because we carry the rest of the world on our backs (Opinion | Expensive U.S. health care enables low prices in other countries - The Washington Post).
So this thing supports universal healthcare. I don't know how it came to it but politically this thing is a long way left from the center.
It just sends a code to your phone the first time you sign up. It's a feature designed to prevent hacks.
I would think it echoes the response expected by the words that are put into it. I asked for a letter on healthcare services. If you want a different perspective then I would think you just re-word your request.

I strongly disagree. I'm no expert on chat bots and AI in general but this thing beats the hell out of Turing test. I have tried some chat bots before and they were nowhere even close to be comparable to this chatGPT thing!
No this was something different. I've read about plenty of attempts at chatbots that for some reason went racist and had to be pulled, so I guess it took them awhile to develop a non racist chat bot.
