Looks like they're blissfully unaware of Israel's long history of false flag ops:

Scumbag reverend posts links to anti-Semitic websites on his Facebook page. He got what he deserved. Their can be no place for hatred of Jews in the church.

This sounds like it could be an abridgement of free speech. Not that such a concept actually very strongly exists in the U.K.
Some could argue the Church of England is sort of almost a little like a public institution.

If this vicar was representing himself as a vicar while giving these messages, then of course he should face discipline. But if he was doing it totally independently from his role as in the Church, then it sounds like a reprisal, yet another case of employers trying to exert control and punishment over their employees outside the workplace, in their private lives, for believing the wrong thing, or writing the wrong thing.

I see a slippery slope when someone can face a reprisal for endorsing a conspiracy theory, even one that is absurd and not well supported.

I realize of course in the Church it is normal to discipline and bar priests if they support heresy, even outside the Church, but normally they are at least given the opportunity to recant and not banned for a 10 year period of time without opportunity to repent. This incident seems like it has less to do with actual religious heresy.

Was it "anti-semetic", or actually just anti-Israel?

Did you read this part of the article?

He is an extreme anti-jewish bigot and you should not be defending such people.

    I agree.

Some aspects may appear absurd but to say it's not well supported is untrue, as the official story has been scientifically disproved in the case of World Trade Center Building Seven:

The sad thing I've noticed is that most people will either approve or disapprove of this vicar being barred, depending on whether they believe in the theory that he said, rather than whether they believe he should have had the right to express a theory (whether or not you personally agree with it) without retribution.

Apparently most people don't really seem to support the right to free speech unless they agree with what the person is saying.

That sort of thinking isn't going to set the foundation for an open society, open to ideas.

I wonder what the Board thinks about this:

"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information."

Fox News reporter Carl Cameron presented a two part series on the suspicious behavior of dozens of Israelis leading up to the event (many were deported soon after). This was aired in Nov. 2001 and it stayed up on the Fox News web site for a few months until The Lobby forced its removal.

Carl Cameron: Investigators suspect that the Israelis may have gathered intelligence about the attacks in advance and not shared it. A highly placed investigator said there are "tie-ins." But when asked for details, he flatly refused to describe them, saying, "Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information."

Or what the Board thinks about this little piece of chutzpah from Benjamin Netanyahu in April of 2008:

"We are benefiting from ... the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon..."
