Scientists do not create the AR’s. That’s common knowledge.

"over industrial area. . .?" Any confidence level assigned? Hasn't IPCC lowered some of its ratings lately?

Or just not care. Mostly because we've got a grip on reality.

And what levels of probability did they assign these findings.

About 30% of US methane emissions are related to fossil fuel use.

Create or not create isn’t of importance. The important factor is that the foremost research and scientific expertise in the world is represented and presented.

“Unequivocal” is a pretty strong word. It would do some of the deniers good to research further. Maybe you or some of them can look it up.

Does it make a difference if it comes from energy or agriculture? You’ve been on record saying that there is a lot of land mismanagement in agriculture. No doubt this leads to a lot of excess methane. Some of this doesn’t appear to be black and white though. For example CSU Ag School did a study that showed that if manure is gathered daily at feedlots, and composted, there is less methane release than grazing livestock.

Sounds like word from the Summary for policy makers rather than from the actual document in which items like these are assigned probability values.

No it is not. Politicians create political policies which go into the AR’s.

I seem to remember a few years ago when several of the scientists raised a sting become the SPM verbiage didn't reflect their findings.

Well it makes a difference if you want to reduce it. If you believe no methane emissions are related to fossil fuel usage then it’s pretty difficult to reduce those emissions. If you want to solve a “problem” you must identify the cause of the “problem”.

If you have a link to the study I’d be happy to look at it. How one manages pastures and dry lots certainly affects methane production. Composting is an aerobic process that certainly decreases methane that occurs in anaerobic environments. Keeping manure in pastures from going anaerobic is a valid strategy we employ.

I do know manure sourced methane is increasing in the US while enteric (burping and farting) sources have remained stable. So composting is certainly a valid way to reduce ag’s contribution.

Forgot to add, decreasing methane emissions by composting will increase CO2 emissions. I suppose it’s a trade off many approve of based on unequal forcing potential between the two.

Well silly me! I must’ve missed that revelation. Perhaps you can share it with the PF body again, so that all can be enlightened by your tidbit of scientific and mathematical ingenuity?

Many of us have challenged your claims to have posted links. And once again we see this same deception.

Thanks. Yeh, I don’t have a paid subscription either. It’s disappointing when land grant universities paywall their research.

Anyway, yes, agriculture and fossil fuel industries emit more methane than “necessary”. And soils are empty vessels ready to be filled with carbon people don’t want in the atmosphere.

The basis of this post is, unfortunately, either your faulty memory or your dishonesty. Take your pick.

    "clean free energy"

Remind me again...as California has further transitioned into "clean FREE energy"... has their energy cost per household gone up...or gone down?

    What does "FREE" mean?

There are two of you. Ironically one claims that most posts that are disagrees with fall into the realm of Brandolini’s law or something like that and then demands reposting of material submitted only a few days before.

If you think that’s the case, repost his link. Hard to do though, since he never posted what he claims.
