I have repeatedly said its not his sitting for the anthem that bothers me its his words.. So nice dodge.. He has every right not to stand for it and i support his right. I might not agree but that does not impact his right.

Again its his WORDS i have an issue with.

    So now try again.

The oppression nonsense.. Again you would know this if you read the thread instead if jumping in midstream and typing crap like "a lot of white people have been cowards when it comes to racism since 1700's up to day. today it's very similar to germans taking a blind eye to jewish people during hitler 1940's."

So if you want honest dialogue try again.

The words in the article you just linked or the ones behind his reasoning for not standing. Because for the most part I don't disagree with him in either case. Granted I'll more than likely stand during the anthem because I've grown used to it.

Me personally, no. That's why I said "for the most part," meaning I disagree with an aspect of his explanation.

    Disrespecting the country?

What is wrong with you people? Men and women DIED to give him his RIGHT to dissent, and his VERY AMERICAN DISSENT has been blasted by the right wing for -no reason.-

He has freedom of speech and expression, and untold gallons of blood have been spilled to give it to him. Who the (*)(*)(*)(*) do you think you are to tell those dead men and women that the right they fought and died for is disrespectful?

    Shameful NONSENSE.

The notion that people are getting shot and killed and the killers are getting off with paid leave, as he says.

I am saying that what he did is as American as it comes - dissenting. And to say that he needs to be fined or banned or deported or exiled just because he did so is ridiculous and shameful. Disagree with what he claims all you like, but the fact that he dissented, as well as any other form of legal dissent, is American, absolutely American, and should be CELEBRATED as an act of exercising his rights.

If he had been open carrying at a political rally, what would people be saying here?

You are implying i can not have an opinion on race relation in this country due to the color of my skin which is well i dont have to say it now do it.. So again Jones what is oppressing you be specific... You agree with Colin so i am asking you to actually discuss the topic.

    - - - Updated - - -

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Very little factual information first he focuses on race and race only and then makes a grand claim with nothing to back it up.... Nice umm aspect.

    - - - Updated - - -

He is an employee. If the NFL or the 49ers thought he hurt eithers image they could have fined him..

Considering his salary and play lately he might not have a choice in the matter.

Then again he is getting married to a lovely BLM activists who believes in "Authentic Muslims" whatever the hell that means.

Quitting football isn't gonna change the anthem or anything.

All the people being shot and/or killed by cops, some justified and some not.

How is justified and oppressed in the same line of thought?

A few bad apples does not make an oppressive society.
