You must be one of those gender study graduates we hear about, because it's clear you didn't take much math.

Gas is cheaper than bottled water. What a racket!

I drink tap water and so glad in most of the US tap water is safe . Unlike other nations.

I couldnt believe it when people started buying bottled water . Fools.

Here in southern Colorado everyone is complaining about everyone freaking out over the virus while they hoard all the food off the shelves at Safeway.

    Americans are stupid.

Dear CEOs grocery workers should get a temporary raise maybe time and a half for dealing with all these idiots.

I could busk for cash I suppose. I don't really have many bills though. It's only my phone that I have a direct debit for.

I could still do this if I practised a bit.

We've had to postpone my juggling convention to September instead of having it in May though as that is likely to be the peak of the outbreak here.

I've actually got a fully equiped mobile kitchen that I use for location catering for film and TV work and the occasional juggling festival.
I'd do better with pie and mash or fish and chips around here rather than tacos though.

You would like my "tall bike" I fabricated. Seat is 6 ft off the ground. I used to ride it and crack my bullwhip from it. I'm pretty handy with a whip and make those, as well.

There was a real craze amongst jugglers for whip cracking a few years ago. Don't see it so often anymore.

Funny that you complain you may lose your business if you don't have paying customers, but you think that Joseph will be fine if he doesn't have paying customers.

Lesh, I vote that you give away all your brewed alcohol for free throughout the duration of the virus event. If JosephWalker should give away what he sells for free, why shouldn't you? If he can deal with no income for a few months, so can you.

Give it away Lesh - in times of trouble, people need to drink, even if they can't pay. Don't stockpile what you are producing... give it away, give it away, give it away, give it away now.

Blue state and liberal local area, and there is pretty much full out panic.

Many places are closed. Restaurants are all take-out only.

About half of public events have been cancelled, and that was a week ago before the panic really started picking up. There are almost no public gatherings now.

Churches are almost all closed. The few that remain open are mostly empty and doing televised services.

There have been only 3 confirmed cases in the county.

were not there yet in sw florida, I went today and bought more stuff. it was incredibly busy considering it was 3pm on a Monday and the employee said it was slow compared to earlier in the day.

several aisles cleaned out, all dairy, meat as well. tons of employees pulling overtime, they are busting their butts.

no shortage of people stocking up on booze either, I think people that dont even drink were buying cases of beer.

made me think I should get some firewood, might be a nice distraction if we fully hunker down.

I can wield one in each hand, thinking of trying fire whips.

I keep a regular whip in my bike's saddlebag. Have kept pit bulls off my ass, twice. Never had to strike one, just pop it loud as hell, in their face.

I played landlord once, over 3 units (4 including ours) when my TSA agent, landlady was transferred, cross country. It's no fun and not "easy money" like so many seem to think!

Being a landlord is also a business. You don't get goods for nothing nor should you expect to be housed for nothing and at the expense of someone else's livelihood. Of course there are exceptions but life in general is no pay no have.

It's not a great job to have right now though. Not something I can do from home like an office drone.

Except no one is suggesting that he gives it away. Merely giving his tenant time to pay him back later rather than kick him out and have an empty property with no income.
It's been explained so many times now I can only assume that people are being intentionally obtuse or they have severe reading comprehension disabilities.

I just phoned the boss to check if he was still going to open the pub today.
He is but we're not expecting much trade. We had a little chat about the situation and both came to the conclusion that it was worth trying to stay open for the next week to try and sell off the stock already in the fridges and any beer which is going to go off. After that, he just isn't going to be able to pay any staff or keep the lights on.
The funny thing was he'd had the brewery on the phone today asking if he was going to order any beer. Some people just aren't getting it, the rep said ''why don't you want anything? you normally order beer today.''
We normally don't have the Prime Minister going live on TV to tell people to avoid going to pubs.

Still, if I take a plastic barrel in on Sunday I might be able to take home 5 gallons of ale that is going to go off otherwise.
Always got to look for a silver lining...

Went for the usual lunchtime brew yesterday and it was dead in the City. We normally go to the Lamb in Leadenhall Market and apart from us city types in suits its generally packed with hoards of people wearing capes and waggling wands in your face pretending to be Harry Potter or something (its where they filmed parts of it....) anyway all those nutjobs have disappeared as well....I guess the tourism and hospitality industry is getting walloped all over...

Right across the board, there are going to be no weddings, festivals, sporting events, schools open etc for months. I'm lucky that I don't really have any overheads apart from maintaining my kitchen truck so I can ride it out for a few months without getting into debt but most catering companies are going to go into massive debt and a lot of them will disappear for good. Pubs have been closing at alarming rates for years now anyway. Most restaurants are borderline at the best of times. A wet Bank holiday weekend can seriously hurt some businesses so a near total shutdown for most of the summer is going to be crippling.
