I'm a student of human nature and how different groups of people react to different events so I'm curious what you all will do as the Coronavirus spreads. Here's my list.

1: Buy stock when the panic settles down.
2: Last year I swore off National Parks after visiting Zion which was way to crowded to enjoy. I'm thinking this summer could be a window of opportunity to visit high profile tourist destination locations including National Parks as Asians stay in Asia and scared Americans stay home.
3: Do lots of driving in my motor home and see the country.. Gas could get very inexpensive.
4: Vote for a Trump second term.:)

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Buy stock when there's blood flowing in Wall Street, metaphorically of course. Good stocks of good companies are on sale. That's what Louis Rukeyser said.

Yeah, you got to time the national parks just right from Badlands NP to Big Bend NP.

You’re assuming the economy will immediately recover following such a pandemic. It’s underestimating this virus to say it will be gone by April-June.

Hard to say. This could go on a while or could be a flash in the pan but the market will come back. This is a very bad cold but it's not the Bubonic plague.

We have a global tragedy with potentially millions of dead people. Why is it that Trump Fan's first thought is how they can personally profit from it?

Thread is titled strategy not sympathy. Two different subjects.
Do you have a strategy or just here to bash?

Tonight on NBC they put the coronavirus in current perspective. 1 -- One has died here in the USA, but they had underlying health issues. 2 -- During flu season between 12,000 and 60,000 die from the flu in the USA. 3 -- 80% of the people who catch the coronavirus will not need to be hospitalized.

Unless you are old and sick they tell you to stay home and self quarantine. It's a bad cold.

We also have potentially a minor hiccup. We just don't know but assuming the worst is pointless worrywarting. Crying in your beer doesn't fix anything. Like it or not what will bring us forth from this be it a hiccup or a disaster of the first magnitude is people who keep on keeping on be it traveling or investing or working.

Remarkable.....I hadn't even thought about the Asian thing. Time to go to the Grand Canyon I guess! A second term for Trump is a given.

We can still relax. I see the total cases in the USA is now only 71, sadly 2 have died.
    .
The Trump administration is handling the coronavirus outbreak better than previous administrations addressed earlier emerging contagions, said Dr. Marc Siegel, professor of medicine at New York University, Fox News medical correspondent, and author of False Alarm: The Truth about the Epidemic of Fear.

Siegel shared his analysis on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with special guest host Joel Pollak.

“I’ve been handling these emerging contagions for about 20 years now, and I have to tell you, I’ve never seen one handled better,” said Siegel of President Donald Trump’s approach to the coronavirus outbreak.

I retired and we moved to the mountains to enjoy the solitude. Our strategy is to hunker down, enjoy the solitude, eat lots of steaks and drink good Irish whiskey. I also bought more "No Trespassing Signs".

My life followed a similar route following a much earlier war. My nearest neighbor is three miles away and we live off grid surrounded by FS land. One way in one way out with a locked gate three miles down the steep and narrow old logging road.

No strategy which is different from day-to-day life. Always have at least a couple weeks of food and drinking water on hand and practice good hygiene.
