FACT--There are Best Case Scenario and Worst Case Scenarios.

FACT--Nothing can be proven (either way) until the crisis is over.

In this case, trust is just an emotion. Fear is generally a much stronger emotion than trust.

 

If 80% infection rate is anywhere near accurate, then the mortality rate is exceedingly low.

A death rate of 1% would equal a very large number of deaths in those areas where the disease has been present since fall.
1% of a just a million is 10,000

80% of a billion is 800,000,000
1% of 800,000,000 is 8 million.

Those numbers aren't consistent with anything being seen.

So either the infection rate is low and mortality high or mortality low and infection rate high.
It can't be both.

AJ, the issue isn't whether he's right or wrong but rather, what kind of a message is he sending out there? Telling his clientele that 80% of them are gonna catch this, and they're already overpanicing as it is - is not exactly the message people need to hear.

It's especially worrisome because New York is always about one disturbance away from open rioting.

Yes. We entered the Twilight Zone for real last week. Trump and most Republicans were ready to pass UBI last Wednesday or Thursday and mail everyone a $1000 UBI check to get money to people who've had their jobs shut down without notice.

Nancy Pelosi threw a wrench in the plan and demanded means testing....which I suppose "means" that everyone would have to apply and wait for the government to tell you whether you are worth $1000 relief, less than that, or none at all.

She is still fighting and refusing to pass anything that would bring quick relief from peoples' current financial anxiety.

Essentially, Trump turned into a Socialist last week and Nancy became a small-government penny-pinching Ultra-Conservative just at the time that people are worrying about going under for the first time in almost 100 years. The one time we need the government. Nancy says "No. Let's talk and talk and talk about it." Bureaucrats....good for nothing.

Have you ever, for one second, asked yourself why so many in the media dislike Trump so much?

Like a lot of us who live around Palm Beach, a number of respected journalists met Trump prior to his becoming
President and have a very good idea of what Trump is all about. It ain't pretty. He's not the kind of person you would want to stranded on a desert island with - and it's hard to. see him as a person who puts anything (like country) above personal gain.

What numbers can you provide that show the infection rate is anywhere near 80% anywhere in the world?
And if it is, what would be the corresponding number of deaths at 1% mortality?
