BTW the judge has set up the Penny case for a reversal on appeal-he said the JURY COULD ONLY CONSIDER THE LESSER OFFENSE if they acquitted on the most serious charge. now that he has dismissed the charge, if Penny is convicted on the lesser charge it has to be overturned.

This is a good thing. And the part about rewarding moral cowardice is very on point. We live in a world where people add a black square to their social media, or pronouns, or a power fist and believe themselves to have accomplished being moral.

They post about mental health, or inclusion, standing against hate, etc and truth believe they are done. That's it. They have shown the world how moral they are and no further action is required.

Meanwhile their actions are vile towards anyone who even vaguely disagrees with them. So the hypocrisy is astounding.

But none of these people have any concept of what it actually means to be a good person, a moral person, to stand against adversity...REAL adversity (and not this nonsense like I'm black and therefore inherently facing adversity and am brave nonsense) and stand strong. To put your health and wellbeing on the line to protect people.

Meanwhile so many wanna virtue signal and put OTHER people behind but never wanna out themselves in the crosshairs for what's right.

Until the charges are cleared, this is too early and trying to pursuade a jury if there is a hung jury in his trial. There should be gold medals for every officer on January 6th, but the GOP does not want that for obvious reasons.

When you have people yelling hang Pelosi, Hang Pence, then yes, it was justified. What was not justified was the 1000 or so rioters who fought with capitol police and tried to subvert the Congressional Duties of certifying the election of 2020 all because their guy lost.

She was crawling through the window trying to get to the congress persons who were fleeing the angry mob. I never said she said it, but it was being said even when that GOP Representative. Again, the police justified the shooting based on the evidence including that statement by that GOP Representative. She also refused lawful police orders and was warned at least twice before she was shot and killed. And yes, she was the felon, not the victim.

So the next time 2 guys get into a fight over something one of them says, this verdict says that they can kill the other because they were "protecting themselves and those around them".

 

Trump's charges for his federal offenses will be dropped and in all likihood, never be resolved. That is to his detriminent historically over a hundred years from now, but helps him only in the short term. His state offenses are a different matter. He was already found criminally guilty on his business fraud charges. And he cannot use the power of the pardon for state offenses. The only question is sentencing. His criminal civil charges will also remain, but the question is how much will it cost him. That's it. My thought is the NY Appeals court will lower the fraud amount from $450 million to $100 million. This case will not be dropped. The Georgia case on Trump alone will be dropped, but will continue on all the other criminal co-defendants and without much fanfare by the Conservative media, mostly.
