"Australia is following the United Kingdom by investigating whether retired defence pilots have been lured with lucrative contracts to help train the Chinese military in air warfare.

Britain's Ministry of Defence has announced it is taking immediate steps to "deter and penalise" UK personnel who work for the People's Liberation Army (PLA), following revelations dozens of former RAF pilots are being paid as instructors in China."

In the past, I thought a lot of these pilots retired to become commercial airline pilots obviously, there's a more lucrative offer on hand from the Chinese. From memory, I thought fighter pilots had a use-by-date at around 36 yo. It's clear that the Chinese don't care for that technicality.

Saves the Chinese the time and resources to train one. How loyal are these pilots to their country? What moral and or ethical boundaries are broken? Is the big golden carrot on the stick too great to refuse, I suppose the dollar is still the collar for some if not all.
