None of those people are racists. You may find quotes from them (probably from decades ago) that may seem racist to you, but that's just a touch of cognitive dissonance. For every single quasi-racist quote you find from any of them, I'll find more quotes that are unambiguously racist from Republicans. Do your worst... I'll be waiting eagerly.

    1) Claims-makers must prove their claims. Nobody else is required to prove their claims but the claims-maker. If they cannot support their claims, they should not state them.

    2) Nobody has to prove a negative because a negative is not a claim. In other words, nobody has to prove that something (like somebody's racism) doesn't exist.

Here is more on your fallacious argument:

Again, I don't have to prove a negative. It's Logic 101. Do you need more quotes from more expert sources?

Nobody has to prove a negative. They only have to prove claims, and those claims only need to be their own. That's how responsible, logical debating works.

I'm done with this. If you choose to believe that something exists because it can't be disproved, then you must still believe in the bogey man.

Your first clue the you were wasting your time, should have been when you admitted it was "really old news".....

It's surprising that this video has survived this long. You'd think that Obama and Holder would have censored it and thrown Bill Whittle into jail.

I've already provided said quotes proving they are unabashed racists. There was nothing ambiguous about them. You are welcome to provide racist quotes from republicans, but that does not undo the racist comments that I cited by them.

It cracks me up how Republicans always trot out the ancient history of REPUBLICAN states as proof of how awful the Democratic party is.

This thread documents the racist history of the democrat party from the 1840's to present day. Because you haven't read the thread you do not know that.

I'm not going to read 57 pages that fell out of the South end of a North bound bovine before I call it what it is. Anything after the 1964 Civil Rights Act and Nixon's Southern Strategy is bound to be SPIN. And anything before that is talking about the ancestors of todays REPUBLICANS. The fact that you think you even have a point to make on this topic reflects poorly on you. To put it MILDLY.

How nice of you to "put it mildly". I will attempt to be as cordial when I say by refusing to read the 57 pages you are arguing your point from a point of ignorance. How can you proclaim something to be a by product of the cattle industry without having seen it?

Racism in the Democrat Party After 1964:

You are completely incorrect in assuming that the democrat party stopped being a racist party in 1964. That very year, they refused to seat the Mississippi Freedom Democrat Party, a movement that challenged the WHITE ONLY democrat party:

President Lyndon Baines Johnson, the man who signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act refused to seat the black delegates from the state of Mississippi at the 1964 Democratic National Convention!

Very little note is made of this historic slap in the face to black Americans that were giving a majority of their votes to the democrats at the time. Was this some kind of racist "Southern Strategy" by Johnson and Humphrey? Perhaps it was. It didn't seem to stop blacks from voting for the very same racist white politicians who voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act:

    The 1968 election:

The democrat party is once again split on racial issues and Wallace having lost the democratic nomination chooses to run as an independent. Nixon won enough electoral votes that he didn't need the 5 Southern states that he won to be elected but no doubt won those states as a result of the Wallace vote which split the democrats. Hubert Humphrey won Texas, (I guess that makes him a racist), and Wallace won the other 5 Southern States.

As much as I've heard about the infamous Nixon "Southern Strategy" I have seen little actual policy actions or statements that Nixon made that were some kind of racist appeal to Southerners to vote for him. I have yet to see one liberal poster describe this strategy except to say it involved "racist codewords" like "states rights". I've seen little evidence that "states rights" were even much of a campaign issue in 1968. But let's review some of the policies that Nixon began as soon as he took office in 1969 and see if his policies comport to some kind of "Southern Strategy" or "states rights" agenda meant to win over support of racist white people in Southern states.

Racial Desegregation of Schools in Southern States:

So this must have been some kind of secret signal to all those segregationist white Southern democrats to come over to the republican party and vote for Nixon? Ridiculous. This "Southern Strategy" did not exist.

    The Philadelphia Plan:
It seems counterintuitive to institute the most comprehensive Affirmative Action plan as a part of your civil rights strategy when you are trying to win over Southern racist white democrats.

    The 1972 election:

George Wallace ran once again as a democrat. His segregationist views did not seem to hurt him in all those liberal democrat states that he won the primaries in:

Wallace would have easily been the democrat nominee that year were it not for the assassin bullet. Wallace would again return to run again for the democratic party's nominations for the 4th time in 1975.
McGovern also beat out 2 African American candidates 1 male and one female, as well as the first Asian American (female) to run for the democratic nomination.

    The Southern Strategy:

Despite this alleged racist "Southern Strategy" that Nixon ran, it did not stop him from winning a 49 state victory, including all but one of those liberal Northern states. It also didn't seem to hurt Nixon among blacks in 1972:

Many claim that Reagan too ran the "Southern Strategy".

Unfortunately for those who subscribe to this theory, it seems someone forgot to tell the people of the black community as they voted for Reagan 14% and 9% in 1980 and 1984 respectively.

Now please, please tell us how democrats stopped being racists after 1964 and tell us more about this "Southern Strategy". My guess is you will not bother to respond because there is nothing you can say that will refute the truth.

You don't have to read all 57 pages, just this post and these other 5 posts with information rebuking the existence of a fictional "Southern Strategy":

Now for those of you who say that my entire post is just another pathetic effort to peel away black votes from the democrat party, and that it is just not going to happen, let me point out that it already is happening. Between the 2008 and 2012 elections, Barack Obama actually lost 2% more of the black vote to Romney (6%) than he did to McCain (4%). Also, blacks identified as republicans between 2008 and 2012 was up an amazing 300% (from 4% to 16%)!

I will continue this in my next post by showing other racist policies and politicians after 1964.

Do you have anything on the Dems more current than 1972? Because that was more than FORTY years ago. And only 2 elections after the CRA.

It was NOT my intent to imply that racism stopped on a f(*)(*)(*)ing DIME in the Democratic Party when the VAST MAJORITY OF RACISTS LEFT AND JOINED THE GOP. Also, is it your intent to present a "fair and balanced view" of racism in politics? For example the REPUBLICAN APPOINTED members of the Supreme Court allowed the return of racial discrimination in voting IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS? Or will you be sticking to the standards of reporting that we've come to expect from conservatives?

Now who is spouting bull? Which racists left the democrats to join the GOP? Oh, right, Thurmond and Helms, the latter of which wasn't even in the congress in 1964. I did in fact miss this return of racial discrimination in voting decision though. Got a link? Actually I do know what you are talking about, but the Supreme Court did not authorize anyone to discriminate against anyone regarding voting, and you know that. It is a silly notion. That is an extremist's mischaracterization of the decision.

If you mean racists like Johnson, Wallace, and Byrd, and Gore they never left the Democratic party.
