Dates have been set. The US is set to withdraw from iraq and Afganistan.

    What has been achieved?

Both countries will descend into sectarian violence as soon as you go. The political stability of both countries is as fragile as the sanity of the Tea Party candidates for prezzy in your own country.

In both countries, even now, the level of violence is at a high. All the Americans seem to have done is reshuffle the political landscapes in a way that gives everyone a chance to blow their opponents up.

Afghanistan/Pakistan is still a haven for Al Qaeda/the Taliban. Iraq has more internicine violence than was ever present under Sadam.

What was the point? Or was there one?

    Afghanistan was about revenge.

Iraq was about isolating Iran from the it's neighbors.

How is it successful revenge when you get thousands of troops killed?

And how have you "isolated" Iraq from an Iran that is gaily pulling Iraqi strings?

Not unless you consider making Iraq pretty much a proxy of Iran....

    Ya, ok we failed.

Our military makes this country. Congrats to all the military members that have put their lives on the line in the name of America and democracy. Regardless of what your political beliefs are, it is always important to realize who the true heroes are and that we are all fighting for the same cause. Even though you might think Obama and democrats hate America, we do not.

If your military makes your country, I'd suggest you give it back to the kiddies who have some idea of economics.

You have a $100 billion GDP. I don't think talking about America with you makes much sense. You're lucky no ones cares about you guys.

Apple is worth almost 3 times your GDP alone. You guys are embarrassing.

And you really think his reply had merit for an intellectual response?

More so than yours.. citing GDP of the country you live in as a premise for being a superior person with more relevance is asinine. You are not your GDP.

Helped increase our GDP because of our increase in Government spending... Isn't it glorious to spend countless trillions on a foreign policy that yields nothing but a loss.

I think this is the first post of yours that I can actually agree with. It's funny how you managed to instantaneously turn akphidelt, a staunch liberal, into a whiny neo-con...in case anyone still thought there was a difference between the two. The partisans only care about who is doing the warmongering. If it's their guy then they're all for it, otherwise it is an atrocity. So what that people have to die, THEIR TEAM WON, and that's all that matters, right?

Besides being militaristic, belligerent, an trillions in debt, how so?

Why should be congratulation them for putting their lives on the line for that purpose, American democracy is nothing in and of itself and especially not if its sending its "heroes" off to die in pathetic wars?

In the same way that most communists and conservatives are fighting for vaguely the same cause

Anyone who ever thought that Obama "hates America" is probably part of the more angry and populist part of the tea party movement, Obama doesn't hate America, he's proud and probably loves "his country", now me, I hate America

The US must occupy whatever region in the world that Israel considers a potential threat to Zionism. It is a high price, but it is worth it to be a gentile and sacrifice for the greater glory of the Lords favored people.

But SkullKrusher, since you have demonstrated to the forum that you really are just a stupid dog trying to ride a skateboard, you should realize that dogs are not gentiles, and some Orthodox Rabbis consider dogs to be possessed by demons, if they dare enter the temple and distract the children from proper instruction.

No, SkullKrusher is the name my dog Grumpy used to try and fool me into believing that he was no longer typing messages on my computer keyboard while I was out. But I caught traces of dog bisquits and paw prints left, and saw the name on the screen., and left him a message so he knows I know now.

I suspect that the above dog may be a friend of Grumpy, and taught him how to type, and now its like the skateboard, another toy that he has to play with.
