Yes but, what we need is a purpose in life.

Every purpose I've ever had has been dashed.
I started as a precision engineer, the British govt purchased where I worked to build an exit ramp from a motorway (like an interstate).
I taught science, house prices in Southern England took off for the stratosphere, I couldn't even afford to rent.
I changed to building power supplies, Britain exported manufacturing
I retrained as a programmer, at that point new programming work started going to India.
I built medical equipment, it was all transferred to China.

A big part of Britain is the City of London and is investments, in companies, and countries.

And they applied the same rule at home as abroad.
If a company makes money, sell it.
If it makes a loss, close it and sell the assets.

So planning for the future was hopeless.

It is not surprising people are looking forward to getting rid of an aimless purposeless life.

But I disagree, I think you can make your own purpose.

Part of my purpose is trying to give ideas to help rescue our country.

No, don't despair, the rest of the world isn't out to get us.

The US needs as a nation something positive to work toward.

The moon shot worked well, Make America Great Again should have
been even more successful, but there wasn't enough money in it for
the weapons makers, so they scuttled it.

Get America Back at War Again by Biden went down a lot better with
the weapons lobby who run the government, so that's what we have.

I was literally born right smack in the middle of the Cuban Missile Crisis, so I have always lived under this threat.

My fear is not so much a nuclear strike from Russia, but rather the newest members of the nuclear club not restraining themselves. I'm talking about India and Pakistan. DPRK is another story.

We had to watch it on television in school when I was a kid. We also had nuclear safety drills in school. I was in second grade.

If there is a nuclear exchange, it won't be because Russian ships went to Cuba, and I doubt it would even start on US soil. Israel is more likely the target.

Ask an American. They are the only country to use nuclear weapons so far.

The source of the problem has been identified, so it might be isolated soon:

True! Well, sorta on second thoughts given the mess the French and the Brits made when “testing” nuclear weapons.

Yes, the nationalist left and one-woman-show BSW and far-right AfD are on Putin's payroll.
