Do you have a socialist economy then? Or are you living in a English-speaking country that is brainwashed to conflate socialism and communism every damn time?

We have a capitalist economy, just like everywhere else in the Western World. It's that capitalism which allows us to afford things like socialised healthcare, of course. It's not paid for via collective-farmed potatoes.

That's not what collectivism is. Collectivism is 'work to eat', private property, shared resources/shared labour. There are just such collectives all over the world. It's every family cohabiting in privately owned property, and sharing the resources of that property. It's in many religious groups, and even some enterprises.

No one claimed it was politics. Socialism isn't a political model, it's an economic/social model.

Middle-class Westerners who claim that are fantasists, and every single one of them is an ardent capitalist regardless.

Of course that is the point. I carumba! The socialist parties in Western Europe won. That's why they have fair capitalism with a good safety net. England got lucky after world war II, America only got the GI Bill. I have lived in France and Spain And could have chosen English citizenship and I know I speak French and Spanish. You are a secret agent who seems to know absolutely nothing about world politics.

    1) So you agree that Western Democracies are all ardently Capitalist? And you agree that no Socialism exists in any of the said nations? Excellent!

    2) Cool story, Bro (backs away slowly ...)

    3) Ah .... oooookay o_O

Socialism is always democratic fair capitalism with a good safety net. Every modern country has it except the United States. Anglo-American capitalist propaganda conflates socialism and communism so there is never an intelligent conversation about it.Every where else they had socialists and communist parties at the same time so I know the difference. Democracy and all that entails.

Collectivism. Work to eat. Group before individual.

    Fixed it for you :)

In reality. The closest any Western Democracy comes to State Socialism is the Military.

Well you don't, no. You're far too invested in the Disney version of Socialism to let it go now.

Like most super capitalist English speakers, you are a Pavlov dog who believes socialism is communism and vice versa. French socialists are not Disneyfied... Or military.

Call it what you want, the system in use in Europe is very different to that in the U.S.

It's still Capitalism. I don't live in America, and am in arguably a much more 'socialist' nation than America, but yet we're still a CAPITALIST democracy, just like European nations.

Whatever. You are arguing for the sake of it. Even you admit "and am in arguably a much more 'socialist' nation than America"

Socialism is simply fair capitalism with a good safety net. The United States is the only modern country that doesn't have it. Living wage healthcare daycare paid parental leave cheap college and training great infrastructure and vacations and mainly taxing the rich. For the billionth time. Talking with someone who can't even say what country they live in is just infuriating and ridiculous.

Yes, in quotes to demonstrate that it's what some will claim.

Yes I understood that. My point was even you admit most people consider European states to have some socialism.

Well I hear SOME people claim it as though it's true, but these are just the usual fey dopes who wouldn't know what hit them if they encountered real socialism.
