The answer to the initial question is no. The Democrats are owned by self interest and their far left ideology. Many Republicans are owned by self interest which is tied with staying office. Very few politicians are willing to address the tough questions like excessive government spending a crafting deals to fix the problem.

Who cares if Ukraine is a democracy or not? Are the citizens of "non democracies" NOT entitled to publilic protection?

I'm sorry, but he's not the first politician to disappoint, and he won't be the last.

I wonder what the US public thinks about the government running up more debt and risking lives and the future of the country, by attacking both Russia and China?

    and for what reason???

We get a lot of raw materials from Russia, and consumer goods and Christmas presents from China,
and obviously the US oil companies want to carve up Russia, but why China, and why both at once?

The problem with the Ukraine is not what king of government it has, but how far are going to let Putin go. His long term plans are to take back Eastern Europe and crack up the old Soviet Union again. When you combine him with China, you have the old Axis and Japan problem as it was in World War II. That is the main reason I can see for aiding Ukraine.

Sadly our world political situation has gone backward, not forward as many had hoped. The fall of the old Soviet Union seemed to a momentous event, but it looks like we are headed for the bad old days again.

Do you care that Putin invaded a sovereign nation or are you, like Woodrow Wilson, more concerned with being able to declare "Peace in our time"?

Obviously you are not in the Ukraine threads or you wouldn't have gotten the source of that quote so wrong.

Wars: First of all, these constant wars are better than the big ones they prevent.
Medical: they are what immigration is about. Cheap tax paying hard working labor with a high birth rate and low expectations.
Streets: We have always them. We called them “bums”, but yeah, nowhere near what we have today. Our Constitution is not helpful in this area.
Need to lie: a handful of CEO’s run the world, and both republicans and democrats can fix it, but the media torpedoes anyone who tries. Being risk adverse, the politicos just kick the can down the road.
China is doing its best to bring America together!

You are correct, that was my mistake...that was Chamberlin who said that. Idea still applies.

Do you care that France during the Revolutionary War invaded the sovereign British colonies of, for example, New York and Virginia?

Do you advocate the NATO surrender to Putin on behalf of Ukraine?

How does kowtowing to the war criminal further the interests of democracy?

Actually France did not invade sovereign British colonies. By the time France joined the war the "colonies" had declared themselves independent of Britain and France entered as an ally to another sovereign nation.

This is a fallacious argument. Do you care that the US with the help of the allies in WWII invaded the sovereign nation of Nazi Germany? Do you care that the US invaded the sovereign nations of Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11/2001? No. You don't care. So why would you care if Russia invades a sovereign Ukraine??

Dude, the 'colonies' of Donetsk and Lugansk in the eastern section of sovereign Ukraine declared themselves sovereign from Ukraine starting back in 2012. There's been two declarations from these two regions to be separate from Ukraine and allied with Russia.

BTW, there are quite a few similarities between the Revolutionary War and the Ukraine war. Just that too many people are ensconced in politics to admit it.
