Unlikely to be true unless you have special training, which is inapplicable to most psychos. The Unabomber was highly intelligent and spent years perfecting it. The 2017 Spanish terrorists blew up their own hideout with their bomb, rather than a target, and had been trained. School bombings aren't common.

Probably the best easy-to-use non-gun weapon for high lethality would be a car. But more limited in the settings it could be used (outdoors most likely with few barricades).

They had one, they've had four since the gun ban and confiscation. Are you calling that a success?

And that isn't including all the other massacres Australia has had since the ban and confiscation.

Please tell us that isn't the level of success you want for The United States.

No. It was conservative policy that got us into this mess. Lack of regulations etc.

do you know about the night club fire in NY in 1995-more killed than any mass shooting incident in US history. One dollar worth of gas.

A child can go on the internet and get information on how to make explosives.

Anecdotes of limited circumstances don't counter statistics.

I'm seeing a pattern of you creating strawman arguments and giving your opinion and acting like it's a fact.

The overwhelming majority of conservatives support background checks and there is no "war on education" and conservatives are not anti mental health.

They put explosive material in a pressure cooker and wired up a blasting cap. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to do that.

No it doesn't. What can happen isn't what usually would happen, necessarily. A gun can be taken anywhere and used effectively by a complete idiot. A bomb? Not at all. A car? Less flexible. Every factor makes a difference. Circumstances vary from a crazy whim to an evil genius plan.

You realize tannerite is legal to purchase right?

Who doesn't know how to take gunpowder and put it in a tube and close off the ends and ignite it?

That's just the simplest one that comes to mind there are many more

We require BGS on private sales in WA state. About 1/3 of our gun crime is committed with guns from out of state. So, 2/3 of it are committed with guns purchased in-state that the MBGCs failed to keep out of the hands of criminals. Our murder-by-shooting rate has doubled since we passed MBGCs, which cost us $10M/year in administrative fees to 'enforce.' I say 'enforce' lightly, because in the several years we've had MBGCs, we've only prosecuted a single person for violating the MBGCs, and that only after someone was shot with the illegally transferred firearm.

Given that, by which metric would you suggest MBGCs have benefitted WA state?

Again, not you, me or any one person specifically, but just that this is what our society has become and no one either can do anything about it or doesn't care to.

it depends on what you want to do.what we do know is that banning guns is designed to ban guns, not stop crime

Yes. Considering we must be at <400% since we repealed our regulations.

People who advocate banning or restricting guns believe it will save lives. To claim otherwise is to misunderstand your opponent. I'm sure there have been times when governments restricted guns to feel safer from insurrection, but these days, in America, using guns to fend off government tyranny is more a fantasy of the right than a fear of the left. A more interesting question is whether policies restricting guns actually can save lives on balance.
