This goofy thread reminds me of one of the weirdest delusions that fuels the entire Birther movement... the deep seated (and false) belief that Obama's life story is mysterious or hidden. The average American actually knows more about the life history of Barack Obama than they do of any other modern American President. There is a test I've started to do every time I meet a Birther in person... and I'm sure it would work online too were it not for google. I'm sure that it would work for both Keymanjim and Dutch... but not after they read this post. I ask them what state Obama was born in. They get Hawaii right (even with protests) 100% of the time. I then ask them what state George W. Bush was born in. They get it wrong at least three out of four times, naming Texas instead of Connecticut. I ask them what Hospital he was born in. Not only do 100% of them know Kapiolani, but more than half will raise the Birther fabricated controversy that Queens Hospital was an alternative. I then ask then what Hospital Bush was born in (Grace - New Haven Hospital). Never have I gotten the right answer. When I follow up with, can you name any hospital in Connecticut... I have received a single right answer from a Birther who named their own birth hospital in Waterbury. This is in spite of them being able to name two hospitals in Honolulu. I ask them what was the last name of Obama's stepfather. I have never had a Birther fail to come up with some garbled version of "Soetoro." When I ask them what the last name of Bill Clinton's step father was, only about two in ten even realize that he had one.... and that his name was Clinton. I ask who raised Obama during the years he lived apart from his mother. 100% of Birthers will name Obama's maternal grandparents... yes, name them... Stanley and Madelyn Dunham. When asked the same thing about Clinton, not a single Birther is aware that he was also raised by his maternal grandparents, let alone their names (Eldridge and Edith Cassidy). I ask them what his sister's name is. They all answer Maya. Asked the same question about Bush, not a single one has ever answered Dorothy. On detail after detail, even the Birthers who insist it is all a lie know more about Obama than any other modern President. So the continued protest that "we know nothing about him" is simply and purely a lie.
Exactly. None of the Birthers cared about this information regarding Bush or Clinton or any other President. They didn't care about this information for McCain either. They don't care about it for any of the current stock of Republican candidates. What Birthers do is cut and paste from the same template all of the things that they have not been able to determine- to their satisfaction- about Obama- and then claim he is hiding all of these things- the exact same things they never cared about for McCain, Bush, Clinton. Take Dutch's claim that since only 3 or 4 people are quoted as having known Obama at Columbia that he must not have attended Columbia. Yet, he never checked to see how many claimed to know Bush in college or Clinton in college. Thats because Birthers don't care about the truth. They have one single agenda- removing from office Barack Obama, or failing that, harming his presidency in anyway possible.
Almost every = 1? I don't know... Why don't you ask the issuing authorities, who have verified that they are not forged.
Just so you know, I'm reporting this entire thread to attackwatch.com Oooo! You're all in for it now. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XYKRokgX00"]Attack Watch Commercial - YouTube[/ame]
Have to love the duplicity and hypocrisy from the birthers. The President ignores you... "Why isn't he releasing XYZ? Why won't he respond to XYZ? It must be a cover up!!!" The President creates a website dedicated to answering your (usually idiotic) accusations... "This is inexcusable!" "Why is he doing this?" "LOL @ the President!" These nuts just can't admit that they're going to hate everything he does and everything about him on a pathological basis.
Who's stopping you from championing the "Birther II" movement to investigate eligibility of all the future Conservative candidates? I can even suggest 2 perfect persons to help you - one to head your legal department, the other to head your PR department
Not surprisingly you missed the point. I don't have any eligiblity issues- I expect all candidates to have the eligiblity to be vetted equally- as Bush's and Clinton's were, as Nixon and Reagan's were, indeed as Eisenhower's was. None of them showed any evidence of eligibility to anyone. Obama and McCain followed that same model- until of course there were questions about Obama's middle name, and he- the first Presidential candidate in history- showed the American public his official state issued Birth certificate. Birther's have claimed for 3 years that wasn't sufficient to establish eligibility. Yet Birthers have not asked a single candidate other than Obama to provide any proof of eligiblity. They just assume every other candidate is eligible. There is a word for that: hypocrisy. Something Birthers embrace.
Racism Fixed that for you. I mean, really. What else is it at this point? Although, "insanity" would fit just as well there.
But it is you who's missing the multiple points, not surprisingly: 1. We're not yet at the point where candidate to challenge Obama emerges, so no reason to vet them yet. Once there, he/she will undoubtedly and voluntarily produce his genuine birth certificate, as some have done already. 2. You seems to be a "progressive" minded person and seems to believe the eligibility vetting should be increased - but not starting with Obama, for it's pure racism; let's improve the vetting process, but let's start with some white folks first?
The fact that there is currently no question about the eligibility of any of the conservative candidates.
To this point, in all of American history, only a single declared candidate for the presidency has ever produced his/her birth certificate. And that would be Barack Obama.
Well lets address your points one by one. 1) So your contention is that candidates for the Republican nomination do not have to be vetted. What a curious position. You would prefer I suppose to wait until a candidate is nominated and then find out he or she is not eligible, and at that point certainly lose the election? And what makes you think any candidate will voluntarily produce his or her 'genuine birth certificate'? Not a single one has shown any interest in doing so yet. What would prevent a Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann from releasing their birth certificate now? Of course the answer is nothing, but in reality they don't release it because no one is demanding they establish their eligiblity. Birthers just assume they are eligible. That is why Birthers are hypcrites. 2) I have stated many times that I have no objection to some form of legal, fair and equitable vetting that would apply to all candidates. At this point there is only one candidate that you are demanding additional evidence of eligiblity- and that is Barack Obama. And he is the only one candidate who has provided any proof of his eligiblity. I have no objection to fair and equitable vetting- even voluntary vetting of all candidates for this election. Barack Obama has provided his evidence of elgibility. Why haven't the other candidates?
uhm... as I said, we're not at that point yet. But Michelle Bachmann was quick to produce one, even though she may not become a candidate after all
Really? Let us apply the Birther standard to that- shall we? a) Let us start with a link to see her birth certificate. I can't find one. Please provide us with a link where all American can see her original birth certificate? a-1) And when did Michelle Bachmann produce her birth certificate for the American people? b) Has it been verified by forensic document experts? This is what Birthers demand is necessary for Barack Obama's birth certificate- certainly you would think a different standard would be required for Bachmann? c) Has her birth certificate been confirmed by its issuing authority? d) Has her birth been confirmed by the hospital she was born in? By the doctor who attended? And I think Michelle Bachmann would disagree with you that she is not a current Presidential candidate.
I wasn't questioning whether we're at "that" point. I was questioning your statement that "some" have "already" produced their birth certificates. She has? Where? When? I searched her candidacy website. Even watched the little 3:24 video about her upbringing. No birth certificate. This page says they requested a copy of her birth certificate from her campaign, and their request was ignored. Why? Doesn't seem that transparent to me... Where's your thread about how she won't release her birth certificate?
LoL but it is you who's beatching about her and other conservatives not being scrutinized to the extent the Great One is... so, go ahead - scrutinize to your heart delight
Nope. You are hallucinating. We are b*tching at Birthers for scrutinizing no one to the same standards to which they hold Obama. That hypocrisy is entirely on your side, not ours.
Ah, I see. Well, whatever floats your boat... As for scrutinizing Obama to some special standard, I'm entirely in agreement with you. Only you got it backwards - imagine the field day Mainstream media would have had, should Bush or Reagan be a political protégé of toilet blowing domestic terrorist Ayers? Or having an America hating pastor Wright for spiritual adviser? Or having Tony Rezko sitting on their U.S. Senate campaign finance committee? No, so far as I'm concerned, it is you who's hallucinating... the first American affirmative action president been cut too much slack
