Equal opportunity without discrimination and freedom of speech are essential pillars of our modern democracy. It strikes me nevertheless, that the Democrats are emphasizing a lot on Equality lately, while the Republicans are preaching freedom of speech all the time. It is a good habit to question everything that comes out of the mouths of politicians, so let’s have a closer look. Equality. When the Democrats say: Equality for everybody, do they really mean that? Or do they mean: privileges for certain minority groups? Like getting that job based on one’s demographic profile even though another person was the better candidate. Sorry, dear ‘other person’, we were impressed by your expertise and motivation, but some groups are more ‘equal’ than others. This does exactly what equality wants to get rid of; people being rejected because of the group they belong to. Freedom of Speech. Let's now get to the Republicans, our fierce heroes fighting for your and my freedom of speech. But do they really mean that? Or do they mean: freedom of speech for everybody but only after having been influenced and brainwashed by billionaires’ platforms on the internet? Are they really fighting for our freedom of opinion, or are they fighting for the billionaires’ power to influence our opinion? Those multimedia platforms all work with so-called algorithms. These algorithms determine what posts will get close to the top of the list so that everybody sees them. If you think that an opinion posted by Musk himself will be treated equally by the algorithm as a post from you or me, then pleasant dreams or let me sing you a lullaby. Musk's little slaves behind the screen do exactly what he tells them to do. When Musk bought Twitter, I was confused as it didn’t seem to be his sort of business, nor did it look like a smart investment for him. Now, I am not confused at all anymore. One must be blind if one doesn’t see the connection between him buying Twitter and now seeing him standing next to the throne in Washinton. Please answer with me 3 questions: -1 Is it OK when a government asks for advice from a private person to optimize the government organization? Well, the president and government can certainly buy services and advice from private persons and companies. And, streamlining the organization in a big bureaucracy is necessary, so now and then. -2 Is it OK when a multibillionaire, who has bought himself in, is standing publicly next to the president of the United States as if he were the vice-president, while speaking to the cameras and calling the shots on internal affairs? No, absolutely, entirely, totally not OK !!!!! -3 Does it make sense that an entrepreneur is risking the reputation of his brand Tesla, the cars of which are mainly bought by environmentally-minded people, so Democrats? No, this is illogical behavior for an entrepreneur, unless he has a hidden agenda that prevails above his main business… So, let's now get to the Constitution. I think we can agree that the US Constitution is robust and wise. Each time a president crosses the line, the Constitution stands firm and things are corrected. However, wise men in the old days could never have anticipated the enormous power of today’s multibillionaires who own almost all the money in the country and can now buy our public opinion through massive platforms. Let’s not forget that constitutions can be changed when supported by a large enough majority. There are multiple examples in history, where democratic elected leaders managed to change the constitution after which they couldn’t be voted away anymore. In all cases, it was the first step in founding their dictatorship. When multibillionaires buy themselves into active politics, which goes much further than lobbying, while being more than rich enough to buy politicians and influence the people, then we have a problem. What can I say? Time will learn how far the US Constitution will be billionaires-proof. In the meantime, may the people stay alert and awake!!
The US has been a plutocracy or oligarchy since the beginning. Those with money will naturally gravitate to the center of power. That's how humans operate.
You may want to remember that our 21st century beliefs about "Equality" were adopted only fairly recently! It's political anathema to recall the fact that -- "Before the mid-20th century, scientific racism was accepted throughout the scientific community. The division of humankind into biologically separate groups, along with the assignment of particular physical and mental characteristics to these groups is referred to as racial realism, race realism, or race science by those who support these ideas." Link: Scientific racism - Wikipedia Negroes in particular were considered to be so 'unevolved' by much of the scientific community before about 1950 that they were described as 'missing links' in evolution, and not even part of the same human race as Whites. The old saying, "Money talks and bullshit walks" is probably as true today as when someone first said it -- but from the opinion you stated in your post, it seems clear you think that if a person has achieved great wealth he should not have the right to speak out on government 'fraud, waste, and abuse'; moreover, he should not be able to actively participate in spearheading the effort to eliminate 'fraud, waste, and abuse' from government spending...(?) I'm not some big 'fan' of Elon Musk, his 'EV cars', or the casual, cavalier way that he brought his child into a press conference to discuss DOGE activities -- while the President of the United States sat silent at a desk nearby. But exactly what has Musk done since being appointed the head of DOGE that runs counter to the nascent effort to identify and stamp-out government 'fraud, waste, and abuse'?! And, as the DOGE 'big-wig', what has Musk done to push his electric cars? The Biden regime's EV-rebates are going away, and federal funding for EV chargers everywhere is being halted! Do you think that those actions are going to help Musk sell more Tesla's?
I though only Democrats did that. https://www.politico.com/story/2010/06/judicial-nominees-donations-draw-ire-038864
