Everything that gives peace is from God

The mystics of all religions “speak the same language”. They all say pretty much the same things in different words and use different metaphors. And if a person is so fortunate as to be able to follow their instructions and do the practices they describe and get the results that those practices produce, a person can have spiritual experiences that 1. reveal the real meaning of the words of scripture, and 2. show that there is actually a very real truth to it all, BUT, it is the truth of the real meaning of the words in scripture and not the literal crap that the church preaches.

And if the experiences produced by the practices and disciplines are studied and researched, it will be discovered that those “spiritual experiences” are actually just the normal, very rare, and natural responses of a mind under the kind of unusual stress that is produced by those practices and disciplines. There is no heaven. There is no god. There are no spirits. It is all MIND.

I don't think anything needs to be done about it.
The vast majority use it for self help. And it's usually a good thing for them.

 

It's true you must experience God in your life before you can truely know and follow Him. Before that can happen you have to be willing to know Him.

 

You might consider that man finds God once he is ready to submit to a higher authority [which happens to everybody given enough time].

 

Most people only find God when they're about to die of something and they know it. When it's too late to do anything about it.

You're sounding very authoritarian right now. What exactly do you have in mind to be "done about it?"

 

I suggest a totally secular education with no snakes tempting the first humans to eat of the tree of knowledge.

 

I suggest home education with no secular government interference whatever...separation of education and state.

Lots of people find God when they're on their deathbeds, yes. That's when 99% of us decide there really is a God and we get to live with Him up in the fluffy white clouds after we die. Ya, right!
