Funny, in so many threads like this people say this stuff DOES NOT HAPPEN. They deny it, but this girl was only THIRTEEN years old

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/...ger-sues-kaiser-permanente-double-mastectomy/

“I don’t think I should’ve been allowed to change my sex before I was legally able to have sex,” Jane told Fox News last week. “I don’t think I’m better off for the experience, and I think transitioning just completely added fuel to the fire that was my preexisting conditions.”

I bet the usual deniers will steer clear of this thread! 13? What the heck is wrong with people!!!

Much like leftist media, they don't like to comment on the failures of leftist ideology.

I’m confused, do republicans want parents making medical choices for their kids, or the government?

The parents are just as much to blame as anyone else. By celebrating kids getting sex changes, the left is encouraging kids to get them.

It is sad to see mental disorders not properly treated. Mutilation of this young girl was not a solution; but it was done.

Absolutely. As a parent you need to be able to withstand the leftist insanity and push by the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ community to lop off body parts as treatment of mental illness.

So he had an elective mastectomy at 13.

    Sorry, sounds like utter bullshit.

Very sad. Lacking the ability to consider long term consequences at 13, this was imposed on her. Like FGM, this is barbaric and unnecessary. Only adults with the ability to pay for unnecessary cosmetic surgery should have this option. By that time, the decision will be made by someone with a developed prefrontal cortex.

I have a hard time believing this story on as written.
My daughter had to have parental consent in my state to get her nose pierced as she was under 18, but this girl was able to get a double masectomy?
It didn't mention anything about parental consent. Something doesn't add up here.
I'll look for something else on this.......
IF this is accurate, there needs to be some accountability, as 13, even 16, is too young for this type of procedure.

The accusations against Kaiser are pretty specific, so Kaiser would be able to sue the crap out of them if they’re lying. The below link takes you to a video of the kid being interviewed along with the lawyer.

    Thanks!
They kind of skated by it, probably because the parents did give consent, but, according to the video, were not fully informed about the whole situation.
Trying to put myself in the parents shoes: they were probably scared by the thought of their daughter killing herself. Tough situation.
I've been in a kind of similar situation, and I can say it isn't easy.
NOT DEFENDING THE SURGERY<, but it isn't easy to decide what to do when faced with a suicidal teen. So many succeed, and it's hard to prevent, sometimes you don't even see it coming.
My gut tells me this is wrong, but I can also see the point of it. Hopefully this wasn't a case of doctors taking advantage to make a buck.

    @LiveUninhibited

In that same thread about this similar topic, you implied this type of surgery can prevent suicide. How high a bridge do you think this girl is gonna jump off later in life when she keeps getting denied for being breast-less? Just curious. Was the surgery for this innocent child a good idea?

The left has authorized sexual mutilations of little children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A blatantly untrue statement spawned in the bowels of hysterical right wing propaganda. Like a good kool aid drinking crew, this hateful rhetoric spewed by ugly trash like DeSantis and Taylor Greene is lapped up and repeated, because folks in MAGA need to hate. They need to denigrate. They need to dehumanize. They need to excuse the intellectual failures of their lives by creating quixotic boogeymen.

Literally no one calls it that except you. Literally no one else. Ever. A completely made up concept to bolster a failing argument.

I refuse to accept that our liberties must be infringed because a few arnt responsible enough to accept the consequence of their choices. Sure they are a minor, and it sucks to be misdiagnosed, this is simply malpractice.

The Florida alternative would have been to have them removed from the house hold and placed in foster care. I don't think the state being involved would have led to a better outcome, and if anything do you really want such irresponsible people having kids themselves?

Based on the headline, it's like saying guns should be banned cause xyz anecdotal evidance.

    That being said,

"Jane’s attorney Harmeet Dhillon “alleged Jane’s caregivers failed to administer the necessary mental health treatments before performing the double mastectomy and never informed her that 80% to 90% of teens eager to transition desist from doing so."
"Doctors administered cross-sex hormones and a double mastectomy to Jane at ages 12 to 13 without adequate evaluation or treatment of her mental health issues,

They skipped the therapy part, and that is why it's important. She was also told to wait till 16, and didn't listen. The doctor told her to wait, not the state. Which is my point. She went doctor shopping and that no different then getting plastic surgery just for kicks at that point.

They are suing for malpractice, and there are already laws on the books for that.

You say it all so casually "sucks to be misdiagnosed" ?
    "Simply malpractice"?
I think mutilating body parts of children was already under the umbrella of MALPRACTICE before THE LEFT normalized it

Seems you really don't take it seriously that a kid was just mutilated.

    SAD

Why aren't they suing their parents? Did the hospital kidnap them and give them a procedure they didn't want and behind their parents' backs?
