The key point is that regardless of whether the factual circumstances involving Willis and Wade give rise to separate ethical concerns with respect to his hiring, such questions do not affect the propriety of the prosecution against Roman and his co-defendants. Questions about gifts and related matters go to Willis’s and Wade’s obligations to the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, and have no connection to assuring the defendants a fair trial.

Have you learned what bribery means yet? Let us know when you do so we can continue having this conversation. It's difficult to have a conversation with someone who is challenging other people without understanding the basics of what they are challenging.

It's not my fault you're citing propaganda by paid proxies going after Trump. Speaking of looking silly, have you learned what a public official is yet? Last we spoke, you didn't know what one was. Since we're talking about an issue related to public officials, it's important to establish the basics. This is potentially due to using the opinions of non-credible sources passed off as facts, as you have done in this thread.

Oh, I certainly do. I'm plumbing the depths of Trumpers' lack of knowledge and perspective.

    It's quite alarming.

@Lee Atwater: Trump must to be gagged and fined from discussing the case outside of the courtroom because it will bias the jury. First Amendment must be overruled.

Also @Lee Atwater: It's perfectly okay that Fani is speaking to the people of Fulton County with prepared remarks about the case in an attempt to influence the public opinion, and thus a future jury, on her misconduct.

'Georgia prosecutor on Trump election case won't be asked about alleged affair in divorce case after agreement reached'

    Source: CNN Politics

Published 6:11 PM EST, Tue January 30, 2024

CNN — Nathan Wade, the embattled special prosecutor in former President Donald Trump’s sprawling Georgia election interference case, has entered into a “temporary agreement” in his divorce – a day ahead of a scheduled hearing where he was expected to be asked about an alleged affair that has become a sticking point in the criminal prosecution.

By settling the divorce case on Tuesday, Wade no longer has to testify in a Wednesday hearing in which he may have had to answer questions about allegations that he had an improper romantic relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and used money he earned on the case to take her on lavish vacations.

Trump and two of his co-defendants are seeking to disqualify Willis’ office and to have the case dismissed, claiming that the alleged affair and financial ties amount to a conflict of interest.

“The Wade v. Wade hearing scheduled for January 31, 2024 has been removed by consent of the parties, a Consent Temporary Order has been entered by Judge Thompson,” Thomas Davis, staff attorney to Cobb County Judge Henry Thompson, emailed CNN on Tuesday.

Key words there... "in divorce case". Fani is still going to have to explain themselves to Judge Scott McAfee. All this temporary agreement did, and it is temporary, is delay the inevitable.

The divorce case testimony was the least of Willis' problems.

It's very interesting how this seems to have played out. From the publicly available information to this point we have seen the following process take place in regards to their divorce. They could make a movie about this.

    1. Nathan Wade and Fani Willis began a romantic relationship while Wade was still married.
    2. Fani Willis gave Wade a huge case to work on despite having no relevant experience whatsoever and never being involved in a felony, let alone a RICO case of this magnitude before. He is primarily a personal injury lawyer who does contract work and small, petty defense cases. Before that, he adjudicated small cases like parking tickets.
    3. The day after Wade received Fani's contract, he filed for divorce from his wife. His wife agreed to a no-fault divorce due to not knowing about the affair.
    4. Roman's attorney finds out about the affair and informs the judge in the RICO case.
    5. Nathan Wade's wife finds out about the affair. She wants to depose Fani Willis, saying she has information relevant to their divorce because she may no longer want a no-fault divorce, depending on the status of their affair. She also says Wade hid his Fani money in a separate account while over-drafting their joint account, leaving her with nothing. Willis would have information as to what Wade could provide regarding spousal support.
    6. Fani Willis goes to church, and from prepared remarks, she makes a ton of extrajudicial inappropriate and potentially sanctionable comments about the case, including that criticism of the corruption within her office is racially motivated.
    7. Fani Willis files for a protective (restraining) order against Wade's wife, and as the DA, accuses her of multiple crimes by asking for her to provide information in her divorce case.
    8. The divorce case is unsealed. Additionally, bank statements are provided showing proof of the vacations Wade paid for himself and Fani.
    8. The judge tells Wade's wife that they'll have a hearing and Fani may not need to be deposed depending on what Wade says. IE- if Wade admits to everything he's being accused of, there's no reason to ask Fani to confirm something Wade admits.
    9. The day before that hearing, Wade agrees to a private settlement with his wife to prevent having to disclose any more information publicly, which protects Fani... for now.
    10. Wade's wife GOT PAID! No doubt she got a good chunk of that Fani money and most likely future spousal support.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but holy cow, that's an amazing divorce story. Fani's response to the judge in the RICO case is due this Friday. Stay tuned, just a couple more days before she goes ballistic and drops a huge bomb of a filing. I'm sure she'll wait until the last minute to avoid the media frenzy. If she does, it will make her seem weak trying to bury the story over a weekend. There were rumors that the reason Fani kept the grand jury until all hours of the night was because the WH was catching bad headlines on a different issue, and they asked Fani to drop the indictment ASAP to save them from their negative press. It will be curious if the White House does something similar to scratch her back in the event she scratched theirs. Fani's team has now admitted that they did collude with Biden's WH attorneys on the logistics of this prosecution a week after Biden said he wanted to do everything in his power to get Trump in this manner.

Yup, this protects Fani and the prosecution. I can see Fani approving a lot more 24 hour billable days after this which brings their romantic involvement into question again going forward. If she just cost him a ton of money in his divorce, will she be doing her fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers? Or will she be a little more lenient on the billing, and approving extra time, since he took one for the team on this?

BBBbut I thought the case was "tits up" over this. It has absolutely nothing to do with the merits of the prosecution, after all....

As has been explained, the case isn't going tits up because of who Fatty Willis was/is ****ing.

It's going tits up because of the crimes and other improprieties she's committed. Like this one...
