My post was factual and logical. Since you aren't disputing facts and ignoring the logic I'm assuming you don't have an argument.

Words have meanings and definitions. If you can't accept their meaning, that is on you. Democracy != Human Rights. My gift to you is the accepted definitions of these terms:

    Oxford Dictionary Definition:
Democracy - a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

    Wikipedia Definition:
Human Rights - moral principles or norms[1] for certain standards of human behaviour and are regularly protected in municipal and international law.

Democracy does not and can not mean Human Rights. Human Rights can come from the Democracy and they can be taken away by Democracy.

It is important that you distinguish the differences between republic, democracy, rule of law and human rights. These are all basic civics concepts that must be understood in order to communicate effectively.

What happened in Florida was due to Democracy. What the majority wanted, the majority got. You object to what happened in Florida because you think it harmed human rights and that it does not comport with the rule of law. That is the correct argument. The incorrect and incomprehensible argument is that everything I don't like is an assault on Democracy.

You provided NO facts. Just an unsubstantiated projection. Even now that I asked for one example, you provide nothing But I should have known that's all you have...

    Thanks for playing....

Wrong! Democracy without respect for human rights is not democracy. Period!

But your attempts to separate democracy and Human Rights is further proof that your concept of both is very limited. Democracy STRIVES to protect human rights. It doesn't always succeed, because it's imperfect (and we don't live in a binary world), but it will never equate to banning free speech, or curtailing any human right. Bad news for you is the anti-human rights folk might win a battle or two (as they have in Florida). But history shows that such events are short-lived and they invariably make those who oppose human rights look foolish.

And fallacy by dictionary (https://effectiviology.com/appeal-to-definition/) only underlines the fact that this is not a topic you are familiar with.

No examples provided of a Christian fundamentalist teacher spreading religious propaganda. How very telling.

"Horrendous documentary?" Let me guess: you didn't even watch it! :roflol:

No examples provided of a company which supports violations of rights which conservatives do not speak out against. How very telling.

No examples provided of teachers teaching all kinds of nonsense. How very telling.

Oh yes, parents who indoctrinate their children and/or put them in ultra-religious schools do not- and never did exist, totally.

    I did. Utter garbage.

The Walshses and Knowleses are the new right and that is really scary.

There was a time when Conservatives at least pretended to be pro-individual rights and pro-capitalism, but nowadays they no longer even mention it (if they do, they are expkicitly anti; "Mu.h, 1220 best year!"). The most important question to them is sexuality and a friggen flag.

Ah. You are a fan of our education system now?

I thought that you were talking about Christian fundamentalist teacher's in the public system.

Let me guess: you won't be able to say HOW it was garbage! :roflol:

Yeah, because they are effective, so they are a VERY REAL THREAT to leftism. So no wonder you find them "scary!" You should frankly find them TERRIFYING! They should literally HAUNT your dreams! :roflol:

How are they no longer pro-individual rights and pro-capitalism

What the hell are you talking about?

You made the claim that conservatives do not speak out against teachers teaching "all kinds of nonsense." Well you have not supported that claim. Maybe you will, but I will not hold my breath!

You really don’t get how the NEW DEAL was a huge gift to the capitalists. So much for critical thinking.

Well not exactly but much better than your usual shot in the dark. The new deal was a boon to some capitalists a lot of other got kicked to the curb. And let's also not forget that The new deal was also big labor's golden age. Under Roosevelt's NRA we went from upwards of forty car companies to four and only two of those are still standing. Yes we've added Tesla and another much smaller electric car company which even with massive subsidies still only represent less than 4% of the US auto market. Because of the cost to benefit analysis of your average driver favoring buying a ten year old gas clunker over a new Tesla, and that's without counting the somewhat distressing tendency, to burst into flames upon occasion for no particular reason.

Note in a capitalist society we are all capitalist. We are all buying and selling with the only difference being what we sell and what we buy.

Wake up call... it's not! It's about learning to socialize. This is where they either learn to be homophobes and bigots like their parents, or to be tolerant. Any parent who doesn't want their child to learn to socialize needs to home-school their children so they don't pollute the social skills of others. Because they will learn one way or another. If not from teachers, from their peers. And what they learn from their peers might not be what the parents want them to learn. But learn it they will.

You seem to think the plan is, or should be, great benefit to any business that is a business. That’s where you are in conflict with US capitalism. That’s not what it’s about. It is about building the US as the leading powerhouse. Some companies live up to the challenge; some fall by the wayside and crumble. Can you at least see that FDR’s top federal income tax bracket set at 90% was a main feature to accomplish his goal of the US becoming a powerhouse? Can you also see why now the top bracket is only 37%?

Wrong. If I don’t own a business for private profit and I’m not a supporter of capitalism, I'm not a capitalist. So no, we’re not all capitalists. Look it up.

Sorry no you build economic power by getting the government. The old government maxim "If it works tax it. If it still works regulate it. If it still works repeat steps one and two until it no longer works and then subsidize it to preserve jobs.", is ultimately a recipe for economic disaster because it creates economic dinosaurs that are really incapable of real human economic progress and can barely maintain status quo.

FASCISM is the latest buzzword the DNC has decreed that you WILL use to smear the opposition with. You are being obedient.

It’s funny because in recent times the left has become no friend of the 1st Amendment.

Here’s a fact for ya … When people disagree, that doesn’t mean that one side or the other is fascist.

Everybody except stupid people know this. So just stop.

Probably because it's the latest POLICY in the RNC...

Right! Like remember the time when a Democratic Governor punished Disney for exercising their 1st A rights and Democrats never complained about... oh... wait...

    Projection is a bitch!

Sure is. But you go tell that to DeSantis. He thinks it's genius.

And he also appears to believe there are enough fascists in the Republican Party that they can get him the nomination. I don't think there are that many. What do you think?

That is certainly true. The entire capitalist system was threatened by a very powerful radical popular anti-establishment political movement that grew out of the Great Depression and helped FDR win the presidency only to eventually turn against him for not nationalizing the banks and other critical industries and for resisting the massive redistribution of wealth among many other very radical proposals.

    For instance:

"Father Charles Coughlin (1891–1979), a Catholic priest in Royal Oak, Michigan, won a national following through his weekly radio broadcast, the “Golden Hour of the Little Flower,” which boasted some 30 million listeners. In 1932 he enthusiastically supported Roosevelt, calling the New Deal “Christ’s deal.” However, he quickly became disillusioned with the president’s policies, accusing Roosevelt of being too friendly to bankers. He formed a new organization in 1934 called the National Union for Social Justice, which called for the monetization of silver and the nationalization of major banks and industries. He became a supporter of Huey Long (Statement on the Share Our Wealth Society (1935)), but after Long’s assassination in 1935 he embraced the third-party candidacy of Rep. William Lemke of North Dakota. During the second half of the decade he grew increasingly sympathetic to fascism, and blamed Jews for the country’s economic woes. In the following speech, broadcast on July 1, 1936, Coughlin denounced the Roosevelt administration for failing to live up to the promises of his inaugural address." TEACHING AMERICAN HISTORY, “A Third Party”, EDITED AND INTRODUCED BY JOHN E. MOSER, July 01, 1936. (emphasis mine)

Capitalist one who buys and sells. One is a capitalist even if the only thing one ever sells is his labor. And no I do not accept the socialist dictionary as a reasonable source for anything other than a means to understand how deluded socialist are.

FDR 90% tax rate never raised a dime because the only man in America it affected moved to Britain.

I know exactly what you are talking about. It is really rather transparent. Democrats think rich people have unlimited money and they can use that to fund all of their pet projects most of which vary between idiotic and useless. For instance OSHA. If one looks at on the job injuries and fatalities since 1930 there is zero evidence that the law had any statistical impact at all on worker safety. The decline in on the job injuries began well before OSHA and was in decline for some time there after at pretty much constant rate. I think some time ago it began to stabilize at the point which indicates that there is only so much one can do to idiot proof the world.

That is not the definition. You made that up.

So I was right. You don’t know how it benefited capitalism. The 91% top bracket didn’t raise much tax revenue but you don’t know how that was a huge benefit to capitalism. You don’t understand its purpose or how it worked. Let me know when you give up and want me to explain it all to you.

Right OTJ injuries remained low, which means OSHA worked. “Why do we need lifeguards??? Drownings are low!!!!”

    Brilliant.

    Sez you.
