Where I live we can grow just about anything we want. I have cows, chickens and pigs. I grow most of my own vegetables and can sell them if I like but i use most of them for animal food and I live inside the city limits. But the city limits go way out into the country.

Most places have farmers markets to sell produce in most parts of the country and the only problem is transporting the produce to the market and paying for your booth space.

I can not sell meat unless it is inspected but i can sell it on the hoof.

you do not manufacture natural food....

I never said the US was devoid of good food. Only that the US Government has created a system whereby the majority of Americans have access only to disgusting corporate science experiments and much of it remains unlabeled.

Disgusting chemical lab food but highly profitable. That's all that really matters to fat cat creeps. You wouldn't catch them eating the sheet they cash in on.

Biosynfeticated caldamanoxides, hydroregurgitated biochemicides, albunium craposicide, high fructose corn syrup. Things like that. High profit, minimal production expense, artificial SHEET.

Sure, and that's sold in EU, Australia, Canada....everywhere. I can watch ground beef being ground fresh right behind the counter. Large cuts of beef, fed right into the grinder. Same with loads of burger places in the area. Fresh potatoes, cut right there in front of me then fried in Olive Oil. Not all that bad for you actually. Choice is what America is about. ANYTHING is available. Publix, Whole Foods, Farmers Markets every weekend with local produce. You can eat as healthy or as crappy as you want, which is FINE by me. If I want a Big Mac, I want one and I'll happily eat with a big GIANT smile on my face. If I want an organic salad there are a bunch of restaurants that serve those as well. I can get some awesome BBQ right next door. Then walk across the street to a Churrascaria. Maybe pick up some Falafel at an Israeli joint or some Thai food or Sushi. Fresh fish is all over the place too. Choice is wonderful.

When the processed garbage is all working people can afford...something's wrong. When crap food dictates what you must eat strictly due to cost...something's wrong. The wealthy can eat or not eat whatever the hell they want. The working poor? Not so much.

RIGHT. Again... Let me say loudly.

It is NOT the good food that we have a problem with, but the bad food.

WHY, if we complained about illegal narcotics flooding our streets, you would look at a rich man and claim there is not a drug problem. You would say: "Look, good drugs exist. Why don't they buy Tylanol?".

You would claim American freedom is what allows the rich man to feed narcotics to the poor people while he chooses Tylanol for himself. He made a wise decision, they made a bad one. THAT is the freedom Americans pay 30% of their money to protect? WRONG!! That is not freedom!! That is EXPLOITATION!!

WELL #%^*+ €£¥#%^* %^++# PRED. (No offense). Now your #%^*+ streets in Washington and Chicago are being flooded with Marijuana!! How much American freedom do you need before you will simply #%^*+ give people access to clean, natural wholesome food and products, while preventing the evil US corporate entities from exploiting human depravity!

*** THERE IS A FOOD PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES ***!!!!

Recognize it. Accept it. DO something about it!!

Importing food from France is NOT proof there is good food in America. The common people are EXPLOITED, not rich. They pay 30% of their money into a system that DOES NOT nurture them.

People enjoy their cancer Sir. I think you're being much too harsh. Try and be positive. Think of the profit for those at the top. Smile.

The true profit for a rich man is the fostering and nurturing of a heartiful society that supports him in wealth. The US rich will see a decrease in money until they realize these timeless principles! Not much longer will the US Government be able to subsidize the policies of the corporatist societal abuse!

I don't know about European food being any healthier. I recently had a dish at a German kebab haus - it was slices of random kinds of meat baked in a creamy cheese sauce. It was very good, but filled with fat and couldn't be healthy. I had bangers and mash in London the other day, also a delicious, but unhealthy food.

I'm starting to think that the only reason europeans aren't as overweight is because food here costs so much more that they just can't afford to eat as much of it.

You see, Marshal, that's the problem here. Ignoring facts and supporting abusive, destructive, and undermining trends is a bit of a fashion here in the states. If you say it, jokes will be made, flicks will be displayed, and some icon will eat a McFib sandwhich on a jumbo tron. Meanwhile, at age 50 or so, when the effects of a bad diet and a bad way of living mount into an assortment of illnesses and diseases, there wll be no shortage of doctors reasy to prescribe you with no shortage of pills and drug cocktails to alleviate your symptoms. Money to be made all around.

That's America's genius...creating a consumer market at every stage of life- from birth to death. I'm lovin it

Just to make sure you aren't totally clueless.White Bread is made from wheat flour.
You do realize that I hope.So if a store has good crusty french bread it isn't as healthy
because it isn't whole wheat.I Love bread.I buy Rye and also get good Focaccia..
I have noticed that a few times when I buy Peperidge Farms rye { when I can't make it
to my regular grocer for their oven-baked Rye } the Pepperidge Farm sometimes has been
slightly moist. As if it wasn't in the oven long enough.Meaning they want to extend the
shelf life. But you can't do that with Bread.Bread has to Fully Bake until it's light and airy.
Then it has to sit for a spell.Just like dough has to properly sit and rise.
I'll never buy Bread like wonder that is basically soft mush.
But that bread is OK if toasted.
Some of the most Organic and Gourmet offered bread I've tried is by far the worst.
There was a local gourmet bread maker a couple years ago with really unique
expensive breads. Many had stuff like rosemary incorporated. The bread was almost
un eatable. It was loaded down with too many special herbs and the outside was
hard as a brick overn and the inside wasn't baked long enough. The inside was moist
and wouldn't slice properly. It was bad bread.Whoever baked the stuff broke all
    good bread rules just to offer some fancy schmancy bread for those types {Trendies}
who think they're getting a real treat. Those gourmet breads came in fancy paper
wraps and fancy price ranges.Know thy Bread.

Take a look at ALL bad foods in the (evil) United States. They are evil SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS.. (the majority of them). Someone has figured out to hydrogenize agricultural byproduct to solidify the oil and change texture. Somebody has figured out how to artificially create a fructose chain from cornstalk. Etc. Etc. IT WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM, BUT AS COINCIDENCE THOSE ARE THE BAD FOODS WITH HORRIBLE STATISTICALLY APPARENT EFFECTS. JUST €£¥#%^* LOOK AT WHAT IT DOES TO PEOPLE AND CHILDREN WHO TAKE SUSTINENCE FROM IT.

The result is a food substance that doesn't and couldn't exist in nature. It lasts on the shelf longer (thereby decreasing work and damaging the economy). It requires US mega-corporations to perform these food processes.

McDonald's food and all the disgusting taste-falsified foods would not exist without US mega-corporations to exploit the US population under the guise of feeding the masses and to foment the evil and idiotic US government into corporate welfare.

Yet they have not been satisfied merely producing Frankenstein food. They have attacked natural food through lobbying, laws, and cases of unethical business activities to which the (evil and tyrannical) US Government has turned a blind eye (see: Monsanto). They have made it illegal for common people to manufacture and distribute natural food, and they have tried to shut down small natural farms.

The United States should be focusing on building a large network of safe, healthy, natural food at cost capacity, but the (evil) US Government has instead sold its people into abject slavery to tend to the Mega-Corporate dominance and exploitation of the entire €£¥#%^* landscape. They will not rest until EVERY €£¥#%^* farm and business area. Every €£¥#%^ retail outlet and lease space is €£¥#%^* US Mega-Corporation controlled and dominated, and when natural US people cannot even form a place of their own..

All while the US population has grown statistically fat, diseased, and disgusting by the policies of the evil and tyrannical US Government. A government which has declared its €£¥#%^* corporations are PEOPLE, and that corporate money is SPEECH, thereby partitioning its country into a SUPERIOR form of people with SUPERIOR magnitude of speech, and subjecting every natural citizen as a SECOND CLASS citizen. This is is NOT what the founders intended when they formed the country, said "WE THE PEOPLE", and the US Government is in BREACH OF CONTRACT to its founding principles.

Guess what US Government: "We the people are not corporations!"

Do not let them do to the rest of the world, what they have done to themselves!
