Not exactly 'out of the blue'...

Far right advances in EU election, France calls snap national vote | The Straits Times

Germany and Italy (and really most or all the EU nations) saw a notable shift to the right. And I'll bet all my silver that it was a direct result of opposition to unlimited immigration. I dunno if it's 'right wing' to want to stop the skyrocketting of homelessness, poverty and crime that importing the third world has 'culturally enriched' Europe, but whatever it is, its happening, and it was 100% predictable.

What I meant was that losing one election does not necessarily call for a resignation (of Parliament).
Other than that I agree. And "culturally enrich" is bad joke as one has to have culture to give in the first place. Savages don't have culture to begin with, so they have nothing to give, just take.

I usually just laugh at what Euro media calls 'far right'. Any respectable liberal would never in a million years allow the mass invasions by Islamists that has taken place. Islam is a political ideology, an extremist and violent one.

...on a 45% turnout....I assume Macron is basing his strategy on people caring more for France than they do the EU....

well....generally hacking into "illegals" is a pretty easy narrative if you want power....simple soundbites designed to be swallowed without too much thought by people who don't spend too much time thinking just a crap ton of moaning....we have a Nigel Farage who's made a great living out of it...he talks a great talk but when people do deep dives into his narratives, well, he just comes over as a bit of a whinging cockwomble.

meh....spent years listening to people like him pretending to be victims....ah well who cares

    Nice summary.

Farage is yet more proof that right wing voters rarely meet a grifter they won't fall for. How many years did Mr 'anti-EU' sit in the European Parliament drawing a salary? Now whenever he needs a dollar he gives a few speeches in the US. Loves to fleece the sheep does our Nigel - just make up a victimhood narrative and the faithful will grovel at his little feet money in hand.
