By that logic, Christianity is derived from Jesus, not Judaism. But let's take it a little closer to home. If one Christian sect/denomination doesn't believe that another Christian sect/denomination is actually following their God, does that make the other not actually Christian, or not following the same God at the least?

Regardless of what the actual reality is, which is very much debatable, the thread is working within the Judeo-Christian framework. A thought experiment, for lack of a better term.

Yes they do. The christian god is the god of abraham.
    This isn't any secret.
They just added Jesus into the mix as a part of god. But the main god is the same abraham god.

Mohammad is not the muslim god. He was a messenger. Similar to Jesus.

    Yes. So?
It knew they'd eat from the forbidden tree before it created them.

That's why it's a story. Not real life.

    No. They can't sin.
Unless sin is real. Which it is not.
Granted there's a few definitions below that aren't related to a religion. But it's likely the word doesn't exist without religion to bring it into being.

In law, no one gets sentenced for sinning. They do get sentenced for breaking a law. Some sins may be related to the laws.

    ...
    sin
    1 of 4
    noun (1)
    ˈsin

    Synonyms of sin
    1
    a
: an offense against religious or moral law
    b
: an action that is or is felt to be highly reprehensible
it's a sin to waste food

    c
: an often serious shortcoming : fault

    2
    a
: transgression of the law of God
    b
: a vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God

the operative word is "SELL" isn't it?? The "brainwashing" begins with religious ideology & dogma. Some folks need this kind of structure. Others don't. Bottom line One's personal spiritual consciousness , is a personal connection with a higher power / energy. Rules of conduct involve humanitarian principles. ( some of which have been extracted from various religions. .........but without the dogma etc. Do No Harm would be the core operating philosophical principle.

Disagreed. Before creation, there was nothingness which is dark and cold.

    Not at all

Sinning requires action from your part.

Are you saying emptiness didn't exist? Even Genesis 1 says there was darkness before God created light.

Sin is violation of the law, and first sin was when Lucifer rebelled against God.

I don't think you understood what I said.

There was no one in hell at the time, the dead were in Sheol, where sinners and the righteous are separated and there is also a prison called the Tartarus where the fallen angels from Noah's time are kept in chains. The Bible says Jesus made a proclamation to these spirits/fallen angels. Some believe the spirits were of those humans who perished in the flood.

"in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark”

The spirits: "The angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.”

Yes. I said islamic god not thing but a satanic deception, and nothing to do with Judeo-Christian God

I didn't say Mohammed is God, I said he made up islam, and Jesus was not only a messenger, but God Himself, - one part of the trinity,

remember, God likes to joke and kid, just like the father he told to kill his son, then later said just kidding

he could write a religious text, just to see if people were stupid enough to follow it... a test of sorts

Okay, if you buy into that framework, He is the creator of the guardrails and He provides a carrot and a stick to stay in them. Not so debatable.

I don't have to "buy into" the framework in order to debate within it.

I still havnt read the Apocrypha. I should, and intend to. Its not considered 'canon' by 'the church.' But there is archaeological and historical evidence to suggest Biblical legitimacy (and we're unlikely to ever be more certain of it than that). Anyway, according to one book of the Apocrypha, the book of Nicodemus:

"The fullest written account of the “Harrowing of Hell” is not found in the Bible, however, but in the non-canonical Gospel of Nicodemus, a text which probably dates back in some form to around the 3rd century or even earlier. Here we read how Jesus, after his crucifixion, descended into hell and brought salvation to the souls of the dead who were prisoners there. The story begins with a dialogue between Hades and Satan, who have heard word that Jesus is coming, which prompts a debate about the power of Jesus. Hades is afraid, because he has heard of the miracles Jesus has performed on earth. Satan, on the other hand, has heard that Jesus was crucified as a common criminal; he is certain that they will be able to bind and subdue Jesus when he arrives in their realm.

When Jesus arrives, Hades bids his servants to bolt and lock the doors, but to no avail; Jesus shatters the gates and enters. He seizes Satan and binds him in iron chains, then consigning him into Hades’s keeping until the second coming. Jesus next turns his attention to the patriarchs. He raises up Adam, along with all the prophets and the saints. Together, they all depart up out of Hades, and ascend into Paradise. (You can read a full account in the Gospel of Nicodemus online.) The “Harrowing of Hell” portion of that Gospel was widely circulated in other compilations of religious literature, most notably in the Golden Legend of the lives of the saints, compiled by Jacob of Voragine in the 13th century."

    You argument is very good......

you are correct that The Being of Light of near death experience fame....... created free will..........

    free will led to sin..........

so your premise is logical and rational and I do believe is correct...... [I think]???????

On the other hand... former Covering Cherub Helel was free to take a very different approach to the jealousy and envy and rage..... that he got into when he saw that Adam and Eve looked like the Being of Light of near death experience fame?????!!!!!!

    BS.
The god of islam, which is the abraham god, have the same creation story of Adam and Eve.
Islam even believes Jesus existed. Just not as an extension of god, but as a prophet.

You should learn about the abrahamic religions if you wish to post of that topic.

Mohammed copy-catting parts of the Bible doesn't mean they worship the same God.

"And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light"

People can consider islam as a "abrahamic religion" all they want, but it's meaningless.

Such is your opinion. But it's not meaningless to others. Plenty of Jews and Christians accept Islam as an Abrahamic religion. Just because you want it to be meaningless, that doesn't make it so.

Or to put it in your words, "people can consider Islam to not be an Abrahamic religion all they want, but it's meaningless"

we have all seen the light, cause it's the door to rebirth that you see when you die.... we are attracted to it like moths to a flame

the light is the doctors office when a baby takes it's first breath

to break the cycle of life and death is simple... avoid the light... avoid the rebirth

If you enter a Marriage covenant, and your Wife or your Husband trusts you, and you violate your spouses trust, would you then blame your spouse for trusting you on top of whose heart you've already broken? That's dastardly and malice aforethought. In fact, you've made a covenant and broken it. So that's on you. My religion teaches that we all agreed or covenanted to live rightly before our coming to earth, ("The Sons of God shouted for joy when the foundations of the earth were laid") As modernpaladin suggested, for the opportunity to inherit a place in Gods kingdom. In this dark world, far from heaven, God knew that everyone would fall short. It is a learning and humbling experience. So he provided a way out, a shepherd and savior in Jesus Christ to bring us home. But even that is a matter of choice and what we love more. The gospel of Jesus Christ is his Fathers gospel. It is repentance due to our love for him, and forgiveness due to his love for us.

Then explain what DOES it mean, other than they coexist in the same area and mention Abraham?

Muslims do not worship the same god as Christians ans Jews, which is why calling it "Abrahamic religion" doesn't mean anything

You are stuck in the anti islam frame of mind.
Christians also adopted copy-catting parts of the bible.
Then they also must worship Satan masquerading as angel of light.

But in reality, Judaism, Christianity, Islam all worship the same god of Abraham.
Islam is from the lineage of Ishamel, Issac's 1/2 brother.

    Isaac is Judaism lineage.
    Ishmael is Islam lineage.
Christianity has no lineage. They invented the Jesus story.

If you really want to nit pik.
