God does not give happiness? Materialism brings happiness. You don't have to kill for God's sake. Happiness is drinking apple juice, reading one chapter of a textbook on constitutional law and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Happiness is a choice. Your reality will change to align to the emotions you feel. The trick is learning how not to be a slave to your egoic emotions, but instead tune in to your higher self. This is done mainly through meditation. Most people say "I will believe it when I see it". That is exactly opposite of how the universe functions. What they should be saying is "I believe it, therefore I see it." The universe is a giant radio. Your emotions are how you tune in to the station you want. Tune in to the right station, through your emotions and beliefs, and that is how your life will start to align to. It takes time to develop this ability, and many give up out of frustration, or simply dismiss it as nonsense. But, if you meditate on a daily basis, and begin to tune in to the universe and your higher self, you will begin to see profound changes in your life as you become more in tune with your higher self rather than listening to the blabbering of your egoic self.
No. And the concept is not possible, as nothing exists except god. When we come into this world, we are but a fragment of the universal consciousness/god, cut off from the whole so that we can truly experience ourself without the knowledge of what we are. What we see as holy wars, killing in the name of religion, is simply confusion on the part of those particular fragments of the universal consciousness/god. when we "die" nothing is truly lost. It just changes form. So, no, I do not want to kill for god, as those killing for god do not know what god is. God is pure love, and concepts such as hate and inflicting violence have no place there. Such acts and beliefs are nothing but illusion, which are necessary to give contrast to god's love. Without the illusion of fear and hate, the pure love that is god would not have any meaning whatsoever.
Happiness goes with knowing God, but make no mistake; God won't stop to make you happy. He'll give you the elements to be happy, but it's up to you to be happy. Don't believe that? You haven't raised a teenaged girl then.
"God" is the name many give to abstract concept to try refer to what they think is the creator of everything they know. So we humans "personify" this concept to make it easier to understand. We personify "God" buy giving it human qualities like anger, love, not caring, or many humans create belief systems that have personified God into a human sent to earth to save us. So in discussions where one presumes "God" gives whether it be love, punishment, etc., we presume there is a direct connection on a simple level of transaction. What if this "God" is beyond human qualities and descriptions and is an abstract concept that defies any thing we can conceive....what if all that we attribute to this "God" is simply our projections, i.e., what we say or assume based on our human perspective which is a bias. What if this "God" is more like an abstract concept of energy that is everything that was, is or will be and so at the same time is NOTHING and so is a paradox we can't possibly understand. What if it defies any limits, i.e., beginnings, endings, and its form constantly mutates and changes? The closest then it could be explained is for you to go on a computer and try experience looking at a multi-dimensional fractal picture-you will see its shape never begins or ends and its depth is infinite as is its boundaries because the closer you come to its boundaries the more shapes there are defying where the line is where it ends. With all that in mind what if this "God" and you and I are all part of a connected fractal composite that is so vast you and I can not see it or fathom its complexity. In such a case you could not see all the connections between different shapes (and so creations or life) and so not be able to properly perceive what is being transacted. Let us say we use just basic physics and the lesson that energy is driven by the clash of opposites, i.e., negative and positive particles and through that clash or conflict the energy movement then transpires or easier said, you create meaning by constantly having to reconcile the battle between your negative and positive components-that is what gives you meaning and the purpose or fuel to keep moving as a creation to create new lessons (lives) from which to define new meanings which are all fed back into this never ending complex maze of inter-connection. So what if your lessons learned from negative and positive elements or what we call good and evil, hate and love, sadness and joy, etc., are fed back into the system for all? This would mean all life in its infinite never ending variations share not just hatred and evil but love and joy. So what if say the abstract notion that created this never ending cycle of life forms being created and going on to create is the shared love so to speak-what if the infinite process triggered and cascades into never ending new creations to feed back understanding to us all was set off by love so to speak. If that was the case, the act of setting off this never ending creation would be your example of love. If this thing you call "God" was not loving why would it have shared itself by detaching a portion of itself to experience what being "God" is by being able to move out of the paradox of this "God" to be its own God and create a particle from itself to experience what its like to be "God". What if this process that triggers never ending creation is the love... what if every time you do something positive without expecting anything in return you actually take that love and share it and by sharing it you experience it in yourself and that is the experience of love you talk of initiated by a life before yours that created yours. What if to feel or understand that love connection and transaction so to speak you must share it and what if you block yourself from receiving it by doing something negative or selfish? So what if the question you ask is more like this-"what do you do in your present moment that generates positive consequences?" Maybe that is the answer to your question and so its not answered by using a thought process that says -"what do you give me?" but can only be answered by "what you give others"? Are you just a passive spectator who receives things you like to know you are loved? I only speak for me. The word love to me is a word I do not use. I do not claim to understand it. I only define in terms of how giving I am to others. The more giving I am with nothing given back in selfish return expectation the more I think I passed it on. As for me personally I don't particularly like me. I use the word to explain my feelings for my wife, children or dogs and its a feeling where I would give them anything if I could and not expect anything back. In terms of "God" I myself don't ask it for anything. Sometimes I ask "it" or the scheme of its creative process to help others but in my current state I do not believe love exists unless I help people and do good things. Otherwise its a term others use in movies, t.v. or in life to explain sexual fetishes or other hedonistic desires like chocolate, drugs, gambling. writing on this forum.
