The House Rules Committee on Wednesday night approved a measure to temporarily suspend the federal debt limit and impose discretionary spending caps and set up a final House vote, if passed then it goes to the Senate. The average person has no idea if this is a good plan or not. The lazy media just goes from repub to dem getting quotes. One repub likes the deal and another repub dislikes the deal. One dem likes the deal and another dem dislikes the deal. If we had a decent media they would study the deal and give us citizens a Readers' Digest version of the workings of the deal, allowing us to make up our own minds. Right now I have no idea if the republicans got a good deal from Biden or are we continuing to run up our debt and pay for more liberal programs.

    Pretty much of a nothingburger.
It will impact 50-54 yr olds the most who are on SNAP or other low income help by now having to work 20 hrs a week.
Prior to this, those up to 49 yrs old had to work 20 hrs/wk.

Pulled back unspent covid money, a good thing. How much it really is, not sure.

CBO: GOP’s IRS bill will add $114B to deficit

The Republican proposal to eliminate billions of dollars in IRS funding will pile more than $100 billion onto federal deficits, according to a new estimate from Congress’s official budget scorekeeper.

The bill, which is slated to hit the House floor Monday night as the first legislative act of the new GOP majority, would claw back most of the almost $80 billion in new IRS funding provided under the Democrats’ massive climate, health and tax package, which was signed by President Biden last year.

Leave it to the Crazy to shoot themselves, and the country, in the foot.

In the END, America wins, the World wins, because we will not default on our spending obligations.

Which should have been the priority all along.
