GOP Govs and 'God's Army' Caravan Rally at Southern Border

“A coalition of 15 Republican governors, led by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, is set to converge on the southern border this weekend alongside a conservative convoy known as "God's Army."

The events aim to highlight the escalating illegal immigration crisis and draw attention to what they perceive as the detrimental impact of President Joe Biden's open-border policies, reported the Washington Examiner.

Abbott will host leaders from 14 other red states in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley on Sunday afternoon. Way to go convoy. Send Biden a message he won’t soon forget. We are uniting the country against him and his border policy here and now.

 

This is a great thing to see. Many of the governors and state AG’s standing with Texas against our lawless federal executive branch regime. And now a large amount of the American people mobilized to stand with the people of Texas and the governors and AG’s against the president.

If Republicans cared they would have been pushing for meaningful reform in congress over the past decade instead of doing these stunts every 4 years — anyone remember the trump caravans?

The argument seems to be that republicans won't make any deal as Biden hasn't done anything and is only doing it for the election.

My question is what legislation did republicans pass when they had full control of congress and presidency in 2017 and 2018 for the border.

Did Trump build the wall and make Mexico pay for it? I want real solutions and all I get from the right are hypocritical partisan posturing, finger pointing and useless campaign chants. How can I trust the right to fix the border issues when they cannot even admit their part in the problem?! Do not take this as my backing the left as I have a lower view of them than I do the right when it comes to the border issue.

So the latest I've seen is there is less than a thousand people at the rally ... and "god's army" is now known as the "Puny god's army".

 

The 700k was a psy-ops number only. It worked by intimidating the opposition into not showing up and by tying up feds from trying to retake the park even though the convoy never actually entered eagle pass. There were others at Yuma and San Diego.

Congress has been dysfunctional for a very long time. Their role today is the same as the other 2 branches--to protect the corrupt status quo.

Government has always been inefficient and ineffectual. That's but one reason the founders created a government of specifically enumerated powers. They knew that humans in government tend to usurp powers not authorized. That has come true with a vengeance in the US.

So far this rally looks like a total dud. This was supposed to be led by thousands of semi-trucks. I haven't seen a single one, just a pathetic MAGA-adorned bus and a few dozen regular vehicles, SUVs and pickup trucks. This is shaping up to be a bigger joke than the Canadian truck rally last year that achieved absolutely nothing except unbreathable air and a score of angry motorists who could not get to work.
