Got the Pfizer vaccine on Wednseday

I got my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine On Wednesday. My inlaws, who live with us, got vaccinated the next day. So far, so good, no side effects, except some soreness at the injection site, not any different from getting the annual flu shot.

Now, it is three weeks until the next show, in the meantime, immunity will slowly build up until reaching about 80-90% before the second shot. Israel has given us a lot of real time data, being far ahead of everyone else and serving as a whole-country clinical trial. The important part: People still have to be careful for a couple of weeks after the first shot. Apparently, many are not, which is why in Israel infection rates actually increased in the first days after receiving the first dose. It look like most people think that the vaccine effect is instantaneous and then let down their guard.

 

And if you're in Florida where the new strain is raging you pretty much have to continue on with your defensive strategies as if you weren't even vaccinated at all.

This shows the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine after getting the first dose. It is roughly a 4% increase in protection per day after first dose. So, keep that in mind, everyone, it is not DIRECTLY after you get the first dose that gives you protection, it is about 20 DAYS AFTER you get the first dose that you have a good level of protection, about 80%. It is important to keep social distancing and mask wearing until then, at least.

Got the Modera shot yesterday from the VA. It was so well organized that I had to ask those working there if they were VA employees. It is the same hospital were I was volunteering until about a year ago when they dismissed all volunteers.

Totally blew me away how well the Covid vaccine process deal was done. Of course once I ID'd myself they had my medical records up so I only had minimal questions to answer.

BTW I lived to get shot and tell about it.

I am not "thanking " the guy since that gebonee did cause delays in responding with claiming that the initial 15 cases would be done to "0", that the virus would go away by Easter Sunday last year, and that it would be no worse than a cold. I've had the second shot (Moderna) (Feb 6th), and I'm still being as careful as possible. My understanding is that immunity takes several weeks after the second shot.

Glad to hear you got the first shot. I had zero side effects from the first shot other than normal injection site soreness. The second shot caused fatigue and body aches and more site soreness than the first shot. These effects started the day after the shot but were almost imperceptible 24 hours later.

You also appear to ignore the fact that since the Trumpocity was ignoring the virus because he said a " miracle" shall occur on Easter Sunday morning (last) and the virus shall be made no more.
