Well, well, well. Our Forum has grown up after all! I don't intend to pepper every post with this stuff just because we can now, but it's nice to know that censorship is GONE. Thank you! Hooray! We're going to be treated like ADULTS now!

AND, you can do edits beyond a short period of time. I think I'm going to like this new engine much more than the old one.

I had loaded the OP in this thread with lots of commonly used profanity, just to see if the Nanny filter was present. Then, I went back to test the "Edit" function and removed it.
I'm delighted to say that: 1. Nanny profanity filter is GONE. 2. Edit function now has a much longer time span (perhaps indefinite?).
GOOD WORK! These are improvements that were LONG overdue. We are adults after all! Thank you!

There should be no need to use profanity....I find it far more satisfying to ridicule people with words and phrases above their ability to recognize as negative.

You may be miscalculating in that it may still be against the rules. Just because something can be posted, that does not mean it may be posted per the rules. So you could correctly receive an infraction for your message.

Yeah but yet sometimes a good profanity is what it takes to convey the message home with eloquency. I always wonder at the levels of hypocrisy necessary to suppress the langage real people speak.

So yeah - I keep liking it more. I might even subscribe.

There is enough trash talk on the forum without raging obscenities and ethic/racial/gender slurs added to it. Put the filter back.

I preferred the emotiocons on the other software, but if this software doesn't lock up as often it is a great improvement. Thanks.

Now ain't we the sweet little PC boy, are we?

No need for profanities to be either violent, racist or otherwise cheap. These people know how to get around filters to convey their disgusting opinions. On the other hand, it doesn't mean that because you said "****" that you are trashy. You are just talkin the way everybody does.

Now you say to us that it will better to use "excrement" or "feces" instead to appear PC? Get out of here.

PS: I just noticed to we are back to PC castration.

Nope. I too thought it was gone, but had a previous post of mine efited and revieved a warning. :(

I agree. Calling someone names is a sign of stupidity and I do not mind that being classed as "profanity" and censored. However, using cuss-words to strengthen your arguments, eg. "It is f-word-ing unbelieveble" is different and sometimes needed. It should be allowed in that context imo.

Besides tjere are studies proving that people who use curse-words to express themselves are more intelligent. :)

I've rechecked some of my earlier posts and, regrettably, the Nanny profanity/censorship-filter is back in place.

Well, at least for several days we could fully speak our minds while actually being treated like ADULTS. :( . In my not-so-humble opinion, this censorship nonsense is, in a word, BULLSHIT. And nothing else quite conveys the same denotative or connotative meaning as the actual word, "BULLSHIT". That is just one reason why we should be free and unfettered to express ourselves in whatever way we feel is appropriate in any given situation....

No, not everybody. It is crude language for crude comments at best.

I also find it a little silly to censor so many words on an adult discussion forum. What's it matter as long as such "bad words" aren't being directed at somone else personally?

I feel like this is my WISH board! The obscenities and slurs censor is back AND now even MORE emos than before. The staff is really working GREAT at this new software. Thank you!

How do I search my previous messages on this software without doing a word search if possible? Anyone know?

There is a study that says you are correct.

There is also one that says you are wrong.

So, it seems like the new platform holds a different code for YouTube-vids, this means that all the old threads with direct-links to vids now just consist of a mess of "[]" that http's that aren't even openable by clicking the link. :/
