Not everyone responds to an illness the same way. Clearly, some people are able to bounce back but that doesn't mean EVERYONE will.

I recently learned that a dear friend's daughter, SIL and two of her three grandchildren were diagnosed positive. For unknown reasons, one grandson did not catch it. Two of the four that did are doing well and two, while not hospitalized, are not doing as well.

Many people have died which makes the minimalization of the virus and its impact myopic and callous.

Trump got so scared of COVID he had to call Dr. Fauci for consultation about his treatment. Bit embarrassing don't you think? I wonder why he didn't call the witch doctor who has a 100% cure rate...

A positive SARS CoV2 PCR is not Covid19.
    Sorry for your medical ignorance.

But millions walk the streets daily and don't even see anyone get shot.

Only 3,000 people died from terrorist attacks on 9/11. It wasn't that bad.

It's all fun and games with numbers until someone you know and love gets sick or dies.

You have to weigh the risk and choose accordingly in life. People still populate tall buildings in spite of 911 and nobody is saying it wasn't bad, just that life goes on.

"Lol, I know 3 people who didn't die so a quarter million or so dead is nothing." @Robert , this is why it is important to rely on evidence, not just personal anecdotes.

You aren't putting anyone else at risk by occupying a building. You are only taking that risk on yourself. If you don't take precautions during a pandemic, you are putting others at risk, not just taking on all the risk yourself.

I used to have Rum Mit Tea in Austria.

If I remember right, Austrian rum is about 20 points stronger than ours. They pull out a big mug, throw in a cinnamon stick, a tea bag, sugar, and nearly fill it with boiling water. They then throw in what looks like a couple shots. They didn't measure. Despite evaporation, one of those always got me a bit loopy, esp. the time I had one on top of a ski mountain.

I can't drink anymore, have one for me.

I'm very happy to hear that your granddaughter and great granddaughter came through ok. To lose family would be horrible. I truly wish everyone will be as lucky as your family.

It's true that most people don't have life-threatening reactions to the virus. But those who might have those fatal reactions are put at greater risk when the virus spreads at a higher rate. In that sense, our attitude can be deadly to others who are trying hard not to come in contact with the virus. If we are too cavalier and the virus spreads and becomes much more common, I'm afraid people are going to lose loved ones who might have lived otherwise healthy lives for years to come.

But again, I'm glad to hear that your family is doing well. Stay healthy.

That's the whole thing about wearing a mask. It's to protect others not yourself. People saying that goes against the American grain are bullshit. Americans are independent, even ornery sometimes but we work together on problems more readily and better than anyone else because we see others as resources who can help us rather than charges or enemies. At least we did until Trump

Seems reasonable. Trump got two early votes by that count. Makes perfect sense.

That makes sense. Two people got sick and seem to be fine now. I know three people who got lung cancer and survived. So I guess lung cancer is now cured and a thing of the pass.

how are we "turning the corner" when we are at the worst levels of new daily infections and wont have widely available vaccine till the spring?

we will hit 300,000 dead before things start going right for us.

Oh what the Hell about them, they were going to die someday anyway. ****'em they're old (or have some condition, like hypertension or diabetes) Look at that stock market and let's go bowling

(That's all satire, I'm glad your relatives are healthy and hope they stay that way)

Don't worry, Biden has a good chance of winning and if he does, he can unleash his TOP SECRET plan for covid.

If this is what Trump means by “ turning the corner “, I don’t know how this smuck could ever get a driver’s license.
