No, we don't know the chain of custody.

In March 2022, The Washington Post published the findings of two forensic information analysts it had retained to examine 217 gigabytes of data provided to the paper on a hard drive by Republican activist Jack Maxey, who represented that its contents came from the laptop. One of the analysts characterized the data as a "disaster" from a forensics standpoint. The analysts found that people other than Hunter Biden had repeatedly accessed and copied data for nearly three years; they also found evidence that people other than Hunter Biden had accessed and written files to the drive, both before and after the New York Post story. In September 2020, someone created six new folders on the drive, including with the names "Biden Burism", "Big Guy File", "Salacious Pics Package" and "Hunter. Burisma Documents". One of the analysts found evidence someone may have accessed the drive contents from a West Coast location days after The New York Post published their stories about the laptop

Not unless they have a reasonable suspicion of a crime.

the FBI got it from the shop and all sources already cited for over a year have confirmed it and Hunter admits it is his. Emails have been confirmed by other copies and witness statement .

    No where.

Trump attempted the argument but it doesn't hold water. Trump was President, Hunter Biden is a private citizen.
Congress has a legitimate legislative purpose in investigating the possible crimes of a sitting President. They have no such claim when investigating a private citizen.

Actually it was bluesguy and someone else a while back, arguing about whether the house committee could compel someone to testify, I think for the Jan 6th committee. Just thought it was ironic that the shoe was on the other foot, that's all.

I'll leave the judgement to others.
BUT, now that you brought it up.......................... lol
Sorry, but most of the time I'm in a good mood, and with that comes a level of smartassness.
Sometimes I cause myself trouble because of it. I know, hard to believe, right?

Well, to your salient point, many on this forum can do the ironically hypocritical all day, every day and then claim otherwise. It's "stunningly" Trumpian.

You dont know anything of the sort. If that stuff actually existed, then the Trump admin would have actually prosecuted him and you know it. They had it for over a year, and NOW you claim that the laptops chain of custody, which was Rudy Giuliani, and the Trump administration, and Trumps FBI, somehow it was biased to Biden.

You guys on the right are laughably predictable. Everything in your world is a conspiracy, and now apparently, Trump was part of that democratic conspiracy !

Perhaps, but the run around suspiciously looks like money laundering.

Do you have any idea how many transactions went in and out of the various accounts over the period in question?

It's easy to cherry pick individual transactions and make it look like there's a link.

Yes we know it exist and it is HIS emails and documents and pictures and it has been under investigation since 2018. You seem to think that since Trump himself did not serve him an arrest warrant there must be nothing here. That's quite absurd. The FBI has been covering it up, that is part of the investigation. If you are going to simply dismiss it the evidence and corroborations notwithstanding not much to discuss.

First when he send his lawyer to try and retrieve it and then just recently when he filed his counter-suit against the shop owner. When has he denied it was his?

    How about...................

Washington Post joins New York Times in finally admitting emails from Hunter Biden laptop are real

The Washington Post on Wednesday became the second major news outlet to
reverse course and admit that emails from the infamous Hunter Biden laptop are authentic — nine months after it obtained them and a year and a half after the New York Post first reported on them.

The paper said two security experts used cryptographic signatures from Google and other technology companies to validate nearly 22,000 emails from 2009 to 2019, including messages related to Hunter Biden’s controversial overseas business dealings.

Some verified emails involved a deal President Biden’s son pursued with the CEFC China Energy conglomerate for which he was paid nearly $5 million, according to the Washington Post.

Other verified emails related to his work for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, for which Hunter Biden was paid as much as $83,333 or a month, or $1 million a year.

In October 2020, the New York Post exclusively revealed the existence of Hunter Biden’s emails after being given a copy of the hard drive from a damaged MacBook Pro laptop that the owner of a repair shop in the Biden family’s hometown of Wilmington, Del., said was dropped off in April 2019 and never retrieved.....

No, they didnt serve him because no prosecutor will forward a case with “evidence” so tainted that no jury in the world would ever convict on.

Yeah…The FBI is “covering up” ;)

Seriously, EVERYTHING in rightwinglandia is a conspiracy. Somehow the entire FBI, from the Director all the way down to the secretaries are anti Trump and pro Biden so they haven’t prosecuted him. Hunter Biden is a private citizen, and you are trying so damn hard to tie Joe into some scheme that he was making millions from, that its beyond farcical at this point.

Everything from the right anymore, is just projection.
