How poverty, not pain, is driving some disabled Canadians towards medically assisted suicide

    This doesn't really seem like an argument against medically assisted suicide but rather an argument for better support for the impoverished in Canada.

    Pain is usually something that can be managed. More common issues include wanting to be in control when they die (death with dignity), or their feeling that their quality of life is insufficient to warrant continuing and is likely to get worse while the end is near either way. Maybe it's too easy to get it in that part of Canada? I don't think people like that would qualify in Oregon, for example.
