Where Hegsbeth is going to get into trouble is his views on women in combat. They are outdate and unwanted by 95% of the US military. That I will guarantee you. He has other problems with those who are enlisted or officers whom he has a problem with. In other words, he is putting his own personal and religious influences on how the military should operate. He will gut the programs that have been in effect since Tailhook for sexual assault and so forth, and he will decrease the morale of US troops overall. You don't get that with Mattis or Duckworth.

There will be economic pain and some people may have to actually get off their butts and learn how to keep a job rather than job cycle so often. First, Trump will do background checks on his appointments and nominations. It so happens I know what his background checks included for corporate managers, it probably hasn't changed much in the last decade.
It was modeled after the FBI background checks for FBI employees.

Second, whether he is waiting to get government checks done until he gets Wray out as a publicity stunt or because he doesn't trust the FBI isn't going to make much difference. One way or the other everyone gets screened, you don't get to find out what was in the checks or what they uncovered (unless they are leaked) and in the end Trump will put his people in where he wants them, just like every other administration has done.
