So Jesus is going to deny Peter in front of the Father - and the rest of the disciples for that matter .. is that it ? Pretty sure you have not the faintest idea what the word "Me" represents in context of the sentence and even more sure that you completely don't understand why Jesus intentionally Skill testing question .. and your mission .. should you choose to accept it .. What is "The Logos" in the context of John 1 - The savagely mistranslated and misunderstood verse that lies at the heart of your misunderstanding ... pretty sure you are under- thinking it
Near death experiencer Kevin Zadai Th. D. reports meeting Jesus....... and Jesus quoted His own words to Jesus....... and told Kevin that He actually had meant what He had said about the fact that we will eventually give account even for every idle word......
When you mentioned it. It's a pretty cruel setup. The only fault of the so called 'non-wise virgins' is that they didn't stockpile on oil for their lamps. And who the hell makes a wedding at midnight?! Is Jesus Satan or what?? And the excuse 'I don't know you' is so lame. You knew them before and invited them to your wedding but then got upset because they didn't know you would turn up in the middle of the night and would need some extra oil?? Daym, I don't get this moral of the story. Lame argumentation №2: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. So what are we supposed to do, live like zombies without a normal sleep and wait for Jesus? Can't He just ring the bell when he is at the door, like a normal sane person? You know, so people can get up and meet him?
Because scriptures are for Gods people, people wrongly assume that reading scriptures and copying the procedures makes them Gods people. But that's like thinking that because raw meat is good for a lion, then eating raw meat and roaring will make you a lion. Clearly it doesn't. One must first be a lion or a man of God for the scriptures to properly apply. So short of propriety, it is all cosplay. The scriptures should point you to seek God. Then if you find him, he knows you according to the ministering of his spirit, and gives you oil for your lamp. Then when the call goes out, you are prepared. The five foolish virgins did not seek him. They only assumed the position of virgins in waiting. And those others you mentioned whom he turned away on the day of judgment, likewise never sought him. They only parroted the scriptures and copied the ordinances. So it isn't that God is cruel, but that men push away the living Gods counsel in favor of the creation of an image of righteousness. Salvation isn't a matter of academia.
Sorry, Injeun, this still doesn't seem OK with me. First of all, I don't wanna be a lion because the lion is a mass murderer and "thou shall not kill', remember? The whole story doesn't make sense ... to me. Again, no normal man is getting married at midnight. May be gods do, that's their business. What a luck I don't try to be saved. At least not in the Christian understanding.
A yeah, second I forgot. How can they seek Him when Are they idiots to walk every night with lamps an look for 'the groom"? Especially when they don't know THE DAY or THE HOUR? Could be tonight, could be next week, could be next month, could be next year. Could be during the day, could be during the night. You don't expect them to seek for a groom under such conditions, do you?
You seek God beforehand, in your personal life. If/when you find him and he you, he will give you the oil you need. So you maintain it. And when he comes again as the bridegroom, you are ready for him no matter when. One must know God for ones own self. Not borrow it from the words of Peter or Paul. It's impossible to borrow the knowing of God from another, anymore than one person can eat and drink to another's nutrition or quenching. But God is not so limited. He can impart of himself by his spirit to a mans conception and knowledge. And in his knowing of you, you know him because your life is then in him, and your cup is filled, which you maintain thru fealty to your covenant with him in accordance to the union you established with him thru seeking and finding. This can only be established thru his power and charity rather than our own meager efforts.
I just ran into a couple of paragraphs on this by a near death experiencer that you may find helpful...... www.KevinZadai.com/
Sorry, Injeun, the parable doesn't say anything remotely like this. It only says that "the wise virgins" took additional oil with them. It doesn't say that Jesus of the Father gave it to them. But it's worth mentioning they were pretty selfish too. Unlike Jesus' advice to share your second coat (Luke 3), they sent the "non-wise virgins" to look for an open shop in the middle of the night to buy themselves some oil.
In the parable, the wise virgins took oil with them. The foolish ones didn't. The key is at the end where the groom said to the foolish ones, "I know you not". So he knew the wise ones but not the foolish ones. Consequently, that's how or from whom the wise ones attained their oil. It's all about commitment and actually knowing God beforehand. Otherwise we are empty vessels like lamps without oil.
Probably because he couldn't see their faces in the dark, right? Now that's a real fantasy and magic right there! So, the groom set them up, meaning he knew that the only one to attend his wedding are those virgins who have received oil from the groom beforehand. That begs the question: why would the 'foolish virgins' even bother to go to a wedding they were not invited to? Or if they were invited, why didn't the groom give them his oil? This whole story is so fishy.
Well, in your first post in reference to those who come to Jesus in the day of judgment and say they did all these wonderful things in his name. He will tell them to go away because he never knew them. In the second instance, he tells the foolish virgins who want to be allowed in, to go away and that he never knew them. This tells me that there are a lot of fakes in bible based religion. Or maybe the whole of bible based religion is fake because it is bible based and not founded in the living God. Jesus himself said there is no eternal life in the scriptures, but in himself and the Father. Still people see the bible as God. Ironically, they interpret it to suit themselves. Thus they are the God they presume to worship, or God is the image they project him to be. They even go so far as to elect themselves to his service as if it were his will when it is their own and not his. Are these the workers of iniquity from your original post whom he never knew and sent away? Why would Jesus even say these things if they weren't important or relevant.
