If we can make laws to separate the mind from the body we can have infinite birth and true freedom.

Imagine a world where abortionists who are pregnant get their brains put into robots where they can’t partake in the beauty of procreation.

we can even set up “secret” abortion hospitals to act like roach traps

    no one dies

Excuse me, everyone dies. Why not live in a world where no one passes judgement.

I will forever judge those who participate in mass infanticide as complete and utter demons.

It doesn't work to make you immortal. You still die, just there's now an exact duplicate of you that lives on.

And I will forever judge those that equate abortion with infanticide as complete and utter morons.

A clever fantasy. In real life, abortion laws cannot be enforced and have to benefit to society.

if the bodies were durable, high quality and long lasting, many on both sides of this debate would sign up

    sounds like a thread fail

    Wouldn't sterilization be comparable?

Maybe not even after the first one. There could be some sort of "Three Strikes You're Out" rule.

I assume you mean artificial wombs... hopefully. No, would be a waste of money to keep unwanted embryos alive with those. Embryos don't have minds and are not persons.

If you're talking about uploading consciousness (assuming it's possible) I don't know how you can know. Perhaps it would change your consciousness. Perhaps it could be uploaded and downloaded and it would just feel like you got sent back a few moments in memory and awaken somewhere else. Even if possible, it wouldn't mean immortality - some kind of accident would eventually happen, but it would greatly expand the time in which a being could exist (assuming souls don't exist).

We already throw away fertilized human eggs as medical waste.

Plus, we freeze them until they rot.

Sooooooo- what is your plan for the millions of frozen embryos in storage at the moment?

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6911130/

Tell you what - how about instead of weird fantasies about children that might never be we concentrate on saving the babies HERE.

    upload_2022-12-22_6-38-10.jpeg

America’s infant mortality rate is one of the worst in the developed nations

And it pales in regard to deaths of babies throughout the world

Spell check did me dirty there.

Maybe,. but I don't think so. Twins are separate people from the beginning, even though they're about as close to clones as you can get..
