VOTER PRIORITIES: 61% SAY POLICY SHOULD FOCUS ON ENCOURAGING ECONOMIC GROWTH; 27% SAY FIGHTING ECONOMIC INEQUALITY. "Yeah, but there’s a lot more graft in redistributing wealth than in creating it." https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/484862/ Left claims we are "bitterly divided" actually we are in broad agreement. "Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters believe economic policy should focus on encouraging growth rather than fighting economic inequality, 27% disagree and 12% are" as unaware as Dementia Joe. Time to vote for change. Pelosi and Biden's red ink spending orgy is destroying the value of the money we work for. And the only reason the Dems are pushing it, is for all the graft they skim off the massive spending.
A living wage means having enough money to live - housing, groceries, and all of the normal household expenses that people pay for living. High school kids don't need living wages. College kids don't need living wages. Adults just wanting to supplement income are already receiving income. Seniors are already receiving income. None of these people need a living wage because they either don't have the expenses or they already have income from other sources.
right, so we got inflation, so we need the wage increase right? unless the issue is too much money in the Biden economy, which is increasing demand and the prices will come down once demand decreases or supply increases it's either a supply side issue, a demand issue, or both the big question is will the corps ever lower prices back down? even if the supply\demand issue is corrected?
NYT: Biden's BBB sure looks inflationary to us Where was the NYT with this revelation while Congress was debating it? Democrats only care about the political considerations. That's because they really don't give a damn.
I don't chase blind links, been down too many rabbit holes and I'm not going to try and figure out what point your are making from it. So cite the key points and add you comments and I will be glad to discuss with you.
Yup... Thx alot, Trump! https://www.cbpp.org/research/health/trump-administrations-harmful-changes-to-medicaid
What if the value of the job is less than this "living wage" figure you are trying to place on it? Why doesn't the person make their labor worth more than this "living wage" figure?
if someone thinks they can do the job for less than a living wage, do it themselves my guess is they soon will recognize their time is worth more than that
It's what's the job is worth that is the issue, they don't need to do the job they have their far more valuable to the company job to do that is why they hire someone whose labor is not so valuable for the job. So again what if the value of the job is not worth what ever this "living wage" figure you have in your head. There plenty of people out there willing to work it because they don't need to earn this "living wage" figure, why do you seem to object to that?
It shouldn't be about the value of a job because all work is valuable. The value should be placed on people, what are they worth? People will spend what they make so companies and the economy will benefit.
I didn't the job wasn't valuable, it just not as valuable to the company is this "living wage" figure. It's not about the person's "personal value" or something it's what the job is worth. Companies don't stay in business paying people more than the job is worth. People spend based on the pay they get for the value to the company of the job they do. That value is created with their job. Paying them more for it that it is worth has to come from someone or somewhere else, it makes the labor a net LOSS to the company.
ROFL no they can't they have FAR MORE IMPORTANT WORK TO DO..........that is why they get paid a lot more and why they pay others for the menial labor jobs they do not have valuable time for. If you want more than the minimum wage that's up to you, if you want this "living wage" go out and earn it.
What percentage is the SS increase? https://marketrealist.com/p/when-will-social-security-recipients-get-an-extra-200/
Don't need to read any liberal spin I know basic economics and you can't shut down oil pipelines and halt drilling and not expect a shortage that causes inflation
The value of a widget is $10 each that is all that a consumer will spend to buy it to be able to sell it for $10 each you can only pay somebody $18 an hour to make them if you pay them anymore you would have to charge more than $10 nobody will buy that widget for more than $10 So the value of a widget makers job is $18 an hour
While technically true, what we are seeing since COVID is a lot more people saying, "I hate making widgets. I want to work in the gismo field" which means there is a shortage of widgets and that shortage drives up the price to get one regardless of what one is normally willing to pay. In addition, the dohicky manufacturer may be paying $19 per hour. The hidden thing ignored in the most recent jobs report is that there were a record number of people who quit their current jobs in September. https://abc7.com/quitting-jobs-americans-quit-record-report-september/11230773/ Lot of churning going on.
the consumer sets the value of ones work not the employer a consumer will only pay so much for a product or service there for the employer is limited what it can pay its employees by what the consumer is willing to pay you pay a burger flipper $20 per hour but to do so you have to charge $8 for that burger but no one will pay $8 for a burger so the burger joint goes out of business
then the widget manufacturer goes else where to manufacture their widgets a place that employees will except the $18 or less to make the widgets
