Iran, and their nuclear missles.

With Iran recently making another breakthrough in nuclear technology, that they claim is for "non militaristic reasons," it worries me even more. Out of all the countries have nukes, Iran would be most likely to use them. Considering their country is considered one of the strongest countries in the middle east, and would very much like to insert Muslim supremacy, they are a real threat. Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would, " wipe Israel off the face of the earth." This is reason enough for countries to intervene, and stop them before they have nuclear missiles. The way I see it, avoiding war with Iran is highly unlikely.

Umm actually, he does have power. He even defied his countries religious leaders simply by RESEARCHING nuclear technology. He has become a dictator and has gotten real power now, unlike previous presidents. It's not just a title. This is why Israel is actually worried this time.

 

He never said that and as Up on the governor said he doesn't have the power. Do you have any proof he deified his leaders about nuclear development? They seem to support the 20% enrichment now. There shouldn't be another invasion in the middle east America has eroded enough of its freedoms, and helped destabilize the regions in poverty. I wouldn't take the Israeli's government words they know they have a nuclear arsenal that can wipe Iran off the map and they know they have other countries military and intelligence backing. Besides Iran offered the IAEA a nuclear tour but Israel has refused them.

To begin with, it is very questionable if Iran even possesses the capabilities to produce a Nuclear Missile.

Remember, historically first run nuclear weapons have been large bulky things. Even though the first Atomic Bombs were detonated in 1945, the first Nuclear Missiles were not built until 1957, 12 years later.

Even with all the aid Israel had in it's nuclear program, it is believed that they had their first bomb by 1959-60. And their first Nuclear Missile was not ready for use until 1971.

So even if Iran builds nuclear warheads this year, we will likely not see them small enough and a missile designed to carry them for another 6-10 years at least.

 

And what if Iran did have nuclear ballistic missiles?

It would be suicide to use them.

Israel alone could likely destroy every major Iranian city, and I am sure has contingency plans for just such a retaliation.

And as paranoid as Iran is(with some justification) why would they not assume that the U.S. would indeed retaliate on Israel's behalf?

Think of the scenario's here:

a) Iran uses a nuclear armed missile against Israel- Iran's 20 largest cities would likely be destroyed or damaged. Iran's government would for all purposes cease to exist. Iran's enemies would have a wide open opportunity to attack.

b) Iran uses non-conventional methods to detonate a nuclear weapon in Israel so Iran can claim it isn't there. Israel still retaliates- does anyone doubt that Israel would?

c) Iran gives a nuclear weapon to a terrorist group- not a chance. Iran is not going to supply a nuclear weapon to any organization that is not under the direct, and absolute control of Iran's leadership.

And if that bomb detonated in Israel, Israel would still retaliate.

North Korea has not used nukes against South Korea, and Iran won't use them against Israel. None of their leaders wants to die that much, or watch their personal fiefdom go away.

If 20 Iranian cities were destroyed by nuclear explosions, there would be so much residual radiation in the country that no one would be able to survive there for long enough to attack anything.

War is pointless for both Iran and NATO, and atleast if Iran has nuclear weapons we aren't going to attack, and then we can shift to getting rid of the Saudi scum, and stop selling billions in weapons to them.

 

Iran wants to create threats to America which have the effect of weakening American power. A reduction of American power means a decline in the standard of living in the country. Iran wants to drive America out of the middle east and the expand its influence and power worldwide. That's why Ahmadinejad has been visiting Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Cuba this week.

 

Yet you go on and on about a bunch of things that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.
