Yes.... tie down roping. There is something not right about tossing a rope around a neck, and using it on a fleeing animal to made it drop dead to the ground, so you can pick it up, drop it again with the legs up. It's so dazed at that point that you indeed can tie it's feet.

Go do that on a random dog in an urban area, with a buddy filming it for your tiktok account. And those people suddenly will not see the fun in it. I bet you get shot at when your off to tackle dog nr 2.

They could always replace it with bullfighting which is a much bigger draw than rodeos in Mexico and Spain.

 

What is the point of your post? None of the 3 people in your post died and the couple just needed to shout at the animal and did not need treatment. Yet it seems like you think that any wild animal that might hurt a human should be slaughtered

 

Leave the animals alone. Go ahead and eat beef. We are omnivores, and that is the natural way of things. But beyond killing and eating them in a humane way and allowing them to live a decent life up to the point of a quick and painless death, leave the animals the hell alone. There is nothing “brave” or “manly” about forcing animals into unnatural situations where they are angry, confused, and/or terrified. If you need to feel manly, go join the military. Or get into martial arts where your opponent is a willing fighter. Go climb a mountain. There is a million other things that can be done without forcing animals into unnatural situations that is clearly not in the animal’s best interest.

 

I don't know. Seems inflicting pain and injury upon animals seems fairly savage to me.

Even as a fellow who enjoys hunting, real hunting, not the nonsensical trophy hunting, I firmly believe you have a moral obligation to hunt using the methods that would lead to the quickest, most humane kill shot.

 

Rodeo live stock is treated better than any other cows out there. They get their shots, live long lives, and are put in safe stalls or pastures their whole lives. The one down side is the bucking but trust me it doesn’t hurt them near as much as it hurts the cowboy

 

All states have laws against hurting animals but a cinch doesn’t hurt an animal it just irritates them

 

The way I look at it is, would I want to be irritated and have someone jump on my back for the entertainment of others? I know I wouldn’t want that, so I would never inflict that on an animal that obviously would not do that if it had a choice.

 

I did it. I used to love it. Those animals otherwise would be shipped to a meat factory or a glue factory. Many of the bucking horses would be put down. It’s better than the alternative

 

is it? I disagree. A quick clean death is better than a life of exploitation. If the animal was not ridden, bucking wouldn’t be a problem.
Would you rather live a long life where you are exploited, or be left in peace until your quick and clean death?

It depends. If the cowboys/girls/theys are rounding up gender confused elementary school children to take to the trans surgery clinic, then maybe, the Californians will consider it a respectable sport once again.

 

Don’t like it fine. Don’t go to one. In the meantime do not try to micromanage the affairs of other communities in the state, particularly the valley and rural areas. Rodeo is a big part of our culture here.

I will proudly stand trial for witnessing one. No local DA will ever charge such a thing and no sheriff here would intervene much less arrest anyone.
