They will switch to gold or other trading commodities if necessary. The government might decide to confiscate a lot of it as they did in 1933 as a result, but it will get stiff resistance this time. The government has sold a lot of gold coins as "investments" and taking it back would be an abrupt about face that would be very hard to sell politically. There is also the possibility that the dollar won't have the clout it has had in the past, and the Chinese yen will be the world currency. Since the Chinese are selling drugs thought the Mexican drug cartels, they won't be quick to stop that, if they view the drug trade to still be in their interest.
Seeing how you spend your money would be the least of your worries... Digital currency would be Orwellian. What if you were overheard speaking the wrong pronoun?? Your money could be frozen. What if the government says you ran a red light, when you know it was yellow?? They automatically deduct it from your account. What if the government said we had to ration food - you go to the grocery store, and you're only allowed to use x-amount of $$ - your card won't work beyond the government approved ration amount. Imagine being a "conservative"?? Or worse, a Christian!!! You'd be shut out of the system entirely. Our freedom is toast, but that doesn't mean we should just roll over for the authoritarians.
Because junkies are loaded with gold? That doesn't make sense at all. Drug transactions are done with cash, and it would be very difficult to change that. They are heavily invested in keeping cash. Some drug dealers use Venmo, Zelle, PayPal etc for smaller transactions, but that is digital, and could be used to track them down. Bigger transactions would raise the red flag as-is. Drug trade, and 'under the table' transactions are the driving forces behind the 'go digital' agenda. Chinese yen has not even reached the status of a 'hard currency' yet so it has a long way to go.
I would like to see someone paying for their cup of coffee with gold! Would you get change out of one speck of gold? Are we all to carry sensitive scales with us everywhere?
The government and banks are way too cozy. How many banks are beholden to the government after the collapse in 2007-2008 when they were bailed out?
Its value is only what you can get for it. I can buy gold, or cash with crypto much faster then I could buy anything with gold. And in the investment world speed is everything. With an all digital currency, there is nothing stopping you from buying precious metals and a vault either. I don't see the big deal. Currently they know how much cash you have stored based on your cumulative atm/bank withdrawals anyway. If anything an all digital currency would allow certain segments to go back to a gold standard, and print gold backed notes that people could buy with digital currancy if negative interest is a concern.
Rumour has it that there were more than forty serious attempts on President Trump's life well before Sleep Joe stole the 2020 election!
Well said....... this is no coincidence at all......... The amount of money involved here is so colossal that the largest banks want this............. because they tend to want more and more and more and more governmental control over Americans....... and over people in all relatively free nations
But rumours can be fun and interesting and can lead to more than ninety thousand hits on political forum....... http://www.politicalforum.com/index...alks-about-release-of-e-t-data-part-2.411555/ Russia's Government talks about Release of E.T. data. (Part 2)
Yes... near death experiencer Dannion Brinkley was shown during one of his brushes with death that the time was coming when the traditional USA Dollar would be replaced........ https://near-death.com/some-people-receive-verified-visions-of-the-future/ https://www.alamongordo.com/Prophecies_of_Dannion_Brinkley.html https://www.alamongordo.com/economic_earthquakes_desert_storm.html My theory is that the saying is true that by observing the future....... we alter the future........ because by travelling and teaching tens of thousand of people about the scary future that Dannion had been shown in 1975............... Dannion altered how we think and behave and the disasters that Dannion was shown have been generally delayed and delayed and delayed...... but still about seventy to eight percent of what he was shown has already happened.
Right on que, here comes Florida's authoritarian styled governance. A legislative proposal from Florida Gov. (and possible Republican U.S. presidential candidate) Ron DeSantis would prohibit the use of a national central bank digital currency (CBDC) as money within his state. https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/03/20/florida-governor-ron-desantis-proposes-law-to-ban-cbdcs/ Fear mongering, and ignorance at its best.
I think they minted analog coins with the seal of the Caesar in ancient times. No mp3 currencies were allowed.
Sure, but credit cards came out in the 1950s, but even Romans had banks where balances were written down as opposed to stored only in coin.
Wow!!!!!! I am liking this DeSantis guy more and more and more and more the more that I hear about him!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!
Well.... that depends on how you define the word "State".......... and I would have to admit that the State of Florida certainly seems to know better than the "State" of California.................... when it comes to many serious topics such as how best to assist in keeping the environment more stable. I did deal with that subject in my 2008 campaign writing..... www.BankingSystemsFlaws.blogspot.ca
