In the last few weeks much saber rattles and diplomatic threats and negotiations etc. ... but suddenly, in Washington, silence about is the subject!

Calm before the storm or busy again for something else in the political Washington D.C: ... the case of Comey? ... which is so much more important?

I mean, as a new president was elected in South Korea ... Who is here somewhat more quietly than the corrupt and arrested witch who was previously president!
The psychopath in North Korea has shot some of his big fireworks missiles this weekend and is threatening that they can carry the big nuclear bombs and reach the west coast of the US .. at least the latter is quite doubtful ...

Was there any response from Trump to recent events or are they as important now as elections in Kenya after playing the strong man and the case of Comey is much more important now?

The ball's in China's court. We're waiting to see what their response will be. China can't lose their piggy bank (US) so they'll probably invade NK at some point, or have Un killed. Something like that.

China will go to war in support of N. Korea, so don't kid yourself. Kim's latest missile was aimed towards Russia, but probably as I suspect, it was in response to Russia's interference for their past missile failures.

Now our brilliant congress decided to sanction N. Korea by hurting Russia's wheat exports, since they are dependent on N. Korean workers. China will also be hurt. But even more brilliantly, the US will be checking Russian and Chinese ports to make sure they comply. If Trump is foolish enough to sign the bill you know where that will lead to?

Congress' latest brilliance is even better. Since Al Queda changed its name and pretends not to exist, the CIA can now sell them arms under their new name. One has to wonder what 'force
    s' dream up these things.

No WAY. We are China's piggy bank. China now sees that Trump and Mattis are not messing around with NK. A US conflict with NK screws up trillions for China. China will take care of NK, and they are starting to realize it. My prediction is that they will invade NK in the coming years.

    I have something new.
Kim and Trump are locked in battle to see who can get away with the worst haircut without their security detail laughing.
Kim is winning so far because he shoots people who giggle but I hear Trump has put a deposit on a gun and intends to operate the same policy as soon as the cooling off period allows him to pick it up.

The is direct from hacking Trumps's barber's laptop.

This. All the US really has to do is guarantee China that if they invade the norks, they won't face issues with the U.N. Security council, and we will continue our business dealings with them. From there, China will invade, likely conquer, and then pull out, under the guise of a joint China/US peace talk in which the Korean peninsula is reunified. China will set up shop in what was formerly North Korea, we will stay in South Korea, tensions will settle, and everything will move on.

    Exactly!

Here's how that call will go:

China: Hey, we're going to bust a cap in fatty's ass over there in NK. Don't worry, we won't touch SK.
US: Ok, we'll look the other way here
    China: Right on, brother!
    Mattis: Don't hold back

Unless I'm mistaken, China said it will go to war if N. Korea is attacked. Russia is doing what it usually does and is trying to defuse the tensions so the US won't attack and throw the area into a turmoil. There are a lot of past history and animosities, and just the fact that the US is allied with Japan makes the situation difficult.

What might defuse it is the new president in the South... unless the US tries some regime change funny stuff the way it's been doing the Balkans to hinder the gas pipe line and Chinese investments.

I think China and Russia want N Korea to have a dialogue with Washington. That area is a powder keg. I read it's the most highly armed area in the world.

Yes, that was the situation. Unfortunately for Russia, they have no say here. America is China's money-maker, not Russia in this sense. Now that we have a President with a set of nuggets, China is finally going to have to play ball.

They bluffed the hell out of Obama though. And Bush, and Clinton...etc

It should be interesting to say the least. I've always liked the idea of a Chinese / United States economic partnership, as long as both sides were willing to engage with each other.

Seems with the latest missile launch, things have changed:

The People's Democratic Republic of North Korea on Sunday launched a ballistic missile just hours before China was to begin its most important global diplomatic event. The Chinese Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, was attended by top world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin. Pyongyang's ill-timed move has sparked renewed world anger at the country's refusal to end its militaristic moves.

Analysts observing the incident noted that Beijing may now be ready to support Washington's call for the UN Security Council to implement new sanctions on the DPRK as a means to end what the West condemns as aggression.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, while noting that Pyongyang is being routinely intimidated, nonetheless referred to the launch as "dangerous."

Following an urgent request by Japan and the United States, the United Nations Security Council will gather an emergency session on Tuesday to craft a response to the most recent DPRK ballistic missile test.

Foreign policy experts consider Sunday's missile launch a turning point, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

Looks like little Un may have hastened his own demise. It never ceases to amaze me what little people will do to try and prove they're on the level of an alpha.

Here's something interesting from Greek pro news. There's a suspicion that North Korea might be behind the cyber attacks that affected 150 countries. If it was just from 'fake news' Reuters, I wouldn't pay it much heed, but since they mention Kaspersky, then it might be true.

As reported by Reuters, Symantec and Kaspersky have said they are looking at evidence that the North Korean-related "Lazarus" team may have organized this attack.

Even the Chinese are more and more annoyed with NK too ... following correction: China is the largest lender for the US and its deficit national budget. They have quietly and secretly amassed power in Beijing!

Jeannette ... if you call Reuters to be fake news, then you call every single media in the world to be fake news! And it is very interesting how they are suddenly not when the well-known Russian Kaspersky Lab confirms it. If it was only Norton (Symantec) who did before too, you would have further told that fake news!

But by fact, the traces for the world wide cyber attack last weekend show to NK!
