Fortunately people down here are more considerate than the other poster and the elderly are able to get groceries from the store. Concept like 'respect' is a distant memory for many younger people who will just say "no way" to everything.

Additionally, there's something called DELIVERY... They can have their food delivered, whether by a company or by family members.

These are the same people who wish to not allow unvaccinated people to leave their homes except for emergencies... Maybe THEY should not leave their homes except for emergencies if THEY are so scared to go anywhere.

~ Most of the elderly are the bravest and fear for their freedoms - not Covid 19. There are volunteers everywhere who deliver groceries, medications and do laundry for those who quarantine. All the major markets/department stores have curbside services and home delivery for customers.

The problem with your deflection is the fact that you CAN put the elderly around you at ease by wearing a mask, which takes no effort at all, but you won't do that, but at the same time you blame ME for gas prices as if that was something I can fix by the snap of my fingers.

Seems to work since there is plenty of food in the stores.

 

Good that you take it upon yourself to speak for all of them, but we have plenty of elderly in my family and none whine about loss of freedom because they wear a mask, and yes,- they are very concerned about getting sick from Covid.

It's really easy to do, actually. These are a few steps that the installed White House occupant could immediately take to cause gas prices to drop like a rock within half a year of implementing them:

• Permit the use of preexisting approved leases in ANWAR to put more volume into the Alaskan oil pipeline that is severely underutilized.
• Finish the Dakota access pipeline.
• Re-approve the preexisting energy leases in New Mexico, Arizona, NE Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.
• Retract the stoppage of the Keystone pipeline to permit efficient oil transport shipments from Canada.
• Stop blocking the expansion of coastal oil refineries in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama, as well as Northwest, Northeast and Southeast Seaboard.
• Continue to develop natural gas as a clean burning fuel.
• Drive Liquefied Natural Gas as an export.

I'm actually pointing out that you don't care about how gas prices are significantly affecting other people because those gas prices are hardly affecting YOU. There's no reason for me to wear a mask. Masks don't stop viruses. To act as if they do is complete delusion. To be complicit in delusion is to do a disservice to oneself, one's community, and to truth.

No, it doesn't. It provides me an opportunity to educate them and to alleviate their irrational fear. That's doing them a service, not a disservice. That's CARING about them, actually.

Both problems can be solved, and I have told you how they can be solved. I can't directly solve either one. The most I can do is to speak the truth and to lead by example. Beyond that, it is up to the people in authority in both cases, which is the installed White House occupant (with regard to gas prices) and the people who hold irrational fears (with regard to the people who hold irrational fears).
