James Webb Finally Detected Unnatural Activity on One of the Exoplanets. What's Next?
    Duration: 8:09.

Ok, so this is how we will detect life outside of Earth. Forget the James Web telescope. We will study exoplanets with the next space telescope Luvoir. Because, unlike James Web, the Luvoir will be able to study the elements located on the exoplanets and look for techno-signatures.

I guess the JWST just wasn't sufficient, and they didn't have the foresight to see this kind of use. I hope this telescope gets built and we find out if we're alone in the universe or not. I think we're not alone, but some of the funding will come from people who do think we're alone, so I worry if people will balk at funding it. I hope not!

Watching just a few minutes of this clickbait video makes me wish that YT would return the downvote feature.

I'm sorry that you don't like it.

But I'm a big fan of this next space telescope coming up. Considering that the James Webb had numerous delays, I'm worried.

I am not even discussing the JWST, but the source you used. It is just a clickbait glossing that is more hype than fact. Presented in a way to gain as many views as possible.

If you want a better channel to view about science that does none of the silly hype, I suggest Anton Petrov.

    https://www.youtube.com/c/whatdamath

There is more science content in one of Anton's videos than in all of those.

Don't shoot the messenger. The source is irrelevant.

I already watch Anton Petrov's videos.

I don't know why you're acting this way. So, I watched the video again. I see that it's the topic of aliens that ruffled your feathers. And, this is the science section so we have to act in a specific " science way" or it isn't taken into account.

Well, I guess I put it in the wrong section, especially when you read why I brought this up. I knew I should have put this in the conspiracy section.

Many years ago I met a unique individual that helped me expand my mind on a lot of subjects that I had previously rejected. And I should have known better because of my past experiences with aliens as a child.

So, anyway, back to this person, he helped me to see the future. And the use of spectroscopy in a space telescope was part of the plan. So, now that it's actually happening I know that the plan of the universe is on track. I feel a lot better now, but the future is a fragile thing. People could stop it by complaining about the price tag and bury us in ruin. I hope not! :)

Actually, that is not the case.

I find that most sources like that are not really interested in "science" at all, they literally are just clickbait to get as many views (and money) as possible. And there are tons of them out there.

The fact that they even mentioned "aliens" is just confirmation of that. They play fast and lose with the actual science, and are only out to get as many clicks as they can because that is how they make money.

Good rule of thumb, most "real science" YT streams do not have "commercials" in them before the "science content". They either attach it at the end, or work purely off of donations. Those that do are grossly "dumbed down", and are generally largely deficient in science, and huge into the hype. As that is what gets the largest number of clicks from "science morons", and also the most money.

Like David "Avocado" Wolfe. Who actually told that people with cancer could cured by eating peach pits. Completely oblivious to the fact that peach pits are high in cyanide.

I have great distaste with most "popular" science videos. They largely ignore the science itself, and are only interested in the money they can bring in.

The ads? To tell you the truth, I didn't even notice them. I run YouTube in the background while doing other things and YT runs a ton of ads across everything that plays.

So, anyway, there is a short segment a few seconds long in the middle that mentions spectroscopy (Spectroscopy - Wikipedia).

Just a question for clarification, please don't take offense: Since you have been visited by aliens (as you have stated more than once on this forum), why would you write above that you think we're not alone? Don't you already know that we aren't alone?

Ok, so I have also been aware that we're living in a simulation. I know because I was let out a few times.

To save memory space they were deleting parts of the universe and we don't know about it because the light from those distant objects hasn't reached us yet.

Now, fortunately for us, the simulation has progressed so far that they want to keep running it. And, they said they put everything back in. But I don't see how life outside of earth can just pick up and resume having been absent from the universe for years. I hope I'm wrong.

It's interesting that you would say that. How would you know if you're in a simulation or not? Whether other areas of the Universe are or are not there? Whether alien life is still there or extinguished by the present day? Do you have any evidence or subscribe to a philosophy that says different? :)

Now, the interesting thing is that there are UFO videos coming out even today, so some might be alien craft. But these visitors could have been here for years hiding in secret bases because they can't go home. Because they lost contact. Because their home stopped existing.

There has been some philosophy appearing in recent years having to do with the simulation hypothesis (Simulation hypothesis - Wikipedia). However, their arguments don't impress me and it only shows their ignorance on the matter.

I think they are overthinking it.

The real story is that the people outside of the simulation got a machine from aliens that let them run physical simulations. And the aliens offered to help them run it, but the people refused and ran it on their own.

At first, it was only a basic physics simulation, but later they started hooking up volunteers to the simulation machine to check out what was going on inside.

Then they got the idea that they could create an actual society of themselves in a primitive state and watch them develop and advance.

That's where I come in. I was a very young child and my parents took me to a science expose showing the latest technologies. I ran away from my mom and found a warehouse where they were connecting military volunteers into the simulation machine. Once I heard about what they were doing I begged and begged until they agreed to connect me to the simulation too.

Inside the machine, I found the same exact family as those who were outside of the simulation machine. So, life went on.

Years later, by great luck, I worked for an unknown branch of the military. They showed me many interesting things. One was a machine that could tell if you had a body that existed outside of the simulation. So, as luck would have it, I sat in the machine, and a light popped on to indicate that yes I did have a body outside of the simulation. So, they sent me out of the simulation. That was my first visit outside. Then I went back into the simulation. And told them all about it.

What came next, it turned out that there were many volunteers who had agreed to enter the simulation and they had thought that that mission had ended years ago. They were surprised that it was still going on. I thought that they were silly for having confused the simulation with the real world. So, they expressed their desire to leave to the people in the outside world.

So, in the end, they all left the simulation, but the people outside asked me to stay in the simulation because it needed someone connected to run, and being the only life I knew I agreed to stay in the simulation.

The simulation doesn't still need to run with someone in it to function, but that's another story. Long story.

    What idiocy.

This is not actually JWST data, just some grifting youtube put together by clowns.

I didn't suggest we are in a simulation. You did. You prove it.

I can't. It's a pretty good simulation actually. Which is why I would regret leaving it.

But there is a concept called: glitches in the matrix.

So, for example there was a man in a South African hospital and he disappeared. He was later found dead in the ceiling (Creepy! A man's dead body was discovered in hospital ceiling in Africa - IBTimes India).

And there are the personal stories of such...

This entire thread needs to be flushed to the "Conspiracy Theory" area. It is not science at all.

I am of the belief that a significant percentage of the people who say that we are alone in the universe...... .actually know better.... but are deliberately lying........ because the consequences of the truth coming out about how primitive the internal combustion engine really is....... .could seriously harm the oil industry.

This documentary is actually quite good.

Dennis, I'm such a fool for starting this thread topic. At the time of this story, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) had yet to start taking pictures in its capacity. They had only taken the alignment photo.

Recently, the JWST has been taking pictures that only the astronomers have looked at so far and they will be released to the public later this year. It's said that the astronomers were almost brought to tears. Not chilled with terror, so it won't be about aliens.

Dennis, just to mention about oil...

I think that the extinction of the dinosaurs and the formation of oil might only have been an event on Earth. That means that the aliens don't actually have oil-based products including everything from fuel, to plastics, to roads and tires.

They might actually want our oil. So, big oil might not be going anywhere. But filling that niche market might be a risky move since the aliens might actually be able to create a barrel of oil at their whims.

And this is why this thread is now in the Conspiracy Theory area.

Oil is not made of dinosaurs, never has been.

Since everybody's planning the video, I'm going to skip it, and just ask you: what was the "unnatural activity," the the James Webb detected (or how did they identify it as unnatural)?

    There was none.

It was just an 8 minute long clickbait video, that barely even talked about the JWST. In fact, it was still undergoing tests at the time it was made and was not even activated yet.

It is amazing what kind of crap some people will vomit up for a small percentage of a penny for each view.

Thanks for the 411, Mushroom, and for saving my wasting that 8 minutes of my life. I hope I can do a similar favor for you, sometime.
